  • Desert Isle of Palm Springs or Palm Canyon Resorts of MGV family?

Has anyone stayed at these resorts or have any comments on them? We haven't stayed there but are considering it as we own MGV. I will check TUG reviews as well.

Palm Canyon is a fairly new resort with a great pool complex. Because of the great pool there are lots of families there and it can be a little busy. The room are big but plain.

Desert Islle is old but well kept. Very quite with nothing going on.

So if your a couple looking for a nice romantic vacation I'd choose Desert Isle but if your a family with kids then Palm Caynon is clearly the best idea.

What are you talking about? I thought your MGV purchase fell thru.

          What happened?

The one you're thinking about did fall through. However, we had bought one previous to that.

I really wanted to bid on the one you got but I didn't have the ok to do so

You got a great deal! There was a Riviera Beach & Spa that ended the same day that went for double what you paid yours and those ones aren't annual.

Just shows that there are still deals out there if you know what you're looking for.

                Yeah, I know.

I like MGV points but the place we like to stay best is Riviera Shores. And although you can use your MGV points to reserve Riviera Shores, you must compete with all the other MGV owners. If you own RS you just compete with the other deed owners of RS.

(a backround: Riviera shores has two groups of owners. One is the deeded owners of just Riviera Shores and second is the point owners of Monarch Grand vacations. All the units were first sold as deeded but many units have been converted to MGV points. BUT since many people love to vacation on the SoCal coast there are more MGV owners which want to stay there then there are units which have been converted. So, IMHO its better to own RS than MGV, if you want to vacation there most of the time. )

That is a steal as that is what they rent for just one single week in the summer. I had to look up where that resort is.

Congratulations, Bill. There are steals available if you take the time to look and know what you are doing. Enjoy your resort and you don't have to go in the summer because our weather is nice many months of the year on the coast. We love the off-season because it is less crowded.
