We won't get in until 8/5 at the earliest, a Sunday, so that should work well. Thanks for the tip.

Just went and checked where Windsor is. It's NOT Napa Valley, actually part of the Sonoma Valley. I love Somona, but the wineries there are more spread out, and you don't come upon town after little town like you do in the Napa Valley. Windsor isn't far from Healdburg, where some good friends used to live and where we spent many weekends years ago. Just want you to realize the difference between Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

Hmmm... I will have to look at a map... I am pretty sure one of my fave wineries is in Sonoma, Ferrari-Carrano.... but don't want to forego any cute towns either

I realized that you never really said Napa, just wine country, . I think someone else mentioned Napa and I just went from there. If you can get ahold of a winery map for Sonoma, do so. I remember when we used to go up there to visit our friends we would drive all over the place to hit their favorites. I doubt I could have found some of them on my own, .

I just looked up Ferrari-Carrano. I thought it sounded familiar. It's just down the street from where our friend used to live in Healdsburg (which is a cute little town by the way).

There are many wineries in the Windsor area, including your favorite. There is also a Korbel winery not too far away -- free champange tastiing! Most of the wineries close to Windsor have free wine tasting while most Napa Valley wineries charge.

You might want to think about St Helena or Calistoga in the Napa Valley. These two towns I would highly recommend to anyone going to the wine country for fun, romantics, and relaxation.

St Helena being on the top of my list

The problem is there are no TS in those two towns that I know of. But they are worth going to.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

And the French Laundry is in the Napa Valley! Of course you'd need to get reservations now for next summer.

Before you confirm a Marriott in Napa check the location. Personally I don't like to stay in Napa itself, the other towns are smaller and more "quaint". However, we stayed at a B&B in Napa this summer. It was lovely.

I think we will skip the French Laundry... we will have already spent two weeks in HI, DH would have a heart attack when the bill comes...

I'm still considering that for Steve's next birthday.

Interesting, the prices at Per Se here in NY are exactly the same.

Were you surprised? Bouchon is also a Thomas Keller enterprise and is supposed to be much less (haven't eaten there either).

Can you use your Marriott points for the Renaissance resorts as well? If so, also check out the Lodge at Sonoma.

Yes, it will cost b/t 78,000 and 93,000 points for 3 nights. But if Sonoma maybe I should just keep my Worldmark exchange? Or is the Lodge at Sonoma really nice? It sure looks nice online...
