Here is another upscale shopping area for you to shop in Palm Springs.
World famous as the Rodeo Drive of the Desert, Palm Desert's El Paseo Shopping District is a beautifully maintained picture-postcard floral and statue-filled mile.

El Paseo is truly a shopper's paradise where you'll find over 300 discoveries including enchanting shops and boutiques featuring the latest designer fashions, jewelry, award winning restaurants, interior designers, home furnishings, antiques, beauty salons, spas, art galleries

There is a lot of sight-seeing to do besides golf or shopping. You will like it.

We just got back last week and it was unseasonably hot, in the mid 90s there in March!! It would have been too hot to golf unless you went in the early morning or later in the day, that's true but that's pretty unusual. We still enjoyed our time there just lazing around the pool, in and out of the shade.

We've also gone in October and November and December as it's easy to use our AC there for that time. We love it there at that time. We almost always stay at the Desert Springs and although certain areas have been closed for maintenance on the courses, there are definitely people golfing - we watch them from our balcony!

And don't forget, it's the desert and a dry heat. 80 degrees feels a lot different than 80 degrees with humidity.

Never stayed at the Westin but took a look, it's very centrally located and it's a Westin resort - 'nuff said. You'll have a great time and your husband will love even more than he does now!! Be sure to hit the flea market at the College of the Living Desert on the weekend - that's a must do for our annual pilgramage down there.

You will have a great time...and that should be a great week weather wise as well. All I said was the later in October the better...well you can't get much later than that. Nice week at a nice place. Congrats.

Request a second floor unit, these are 2 story walk ups - you can leave the clubs down in the rental car.....the view from upstairs is great and the units are a little brighter...I love the fireplaces in the bedroom and the living room....and WHAT a BATHROOM!!!!

Angela, that is great. You really deserve it too with all the help you give to others. You will love the desert that time of the year.

I hope you will take the time to visit Joshua Tree NP and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway but there are so many other interesting places to visit too. A week is not even long enough.

Here are some average temperatures in Palm Desert. Rancho Mirage is very close as I couldn't find that.

Thanks John....I took your advice, and I'm hoping that it will have started to cool off a little by then. DH is really looking forward to it.

Thanks Pat....I will do that. Are there different views that I should be considering, or is any where on the second floor good?
