Need help with accommodation - any suggestions?

Hi all,

We are from Australia and will be visiting the US end of August this year.

One of the other forum members has very generously given me a bonus timeshare week to use with SFX, but I seem to be having some difficulty in getting what I need.

Can anyone suggest a good 'allround' timeshare resort on the California coast? We are a couple in our mid 40s, and, due to time limitations, would like somewhere which is close to enough things to keep us busy for the week. To help answer my query - if you had never been to the USA before, which timeshare would you choose??

We have already exchanged a week in Vegas at Club de Soleil through our timeshare company (DAE) which will be our first week.

I would choose near the San Francisco area as you are not too far from some of the most beautiful National Parks too besides San Francisco or the San Diego area where there is enough to do too and the climate is nice most time of the year.

If beaches are most important to you then any resort on the beach would be OK in our area near Los Angeles. There are also some resorts at the wine country of CA but others will have to tell you more about that.

California is a beautiful state with so much contrast to offer you plus we have our deserts. JMHO.

I would read this link here for resorts on the CA coast and the other "sticky" links too at the top of the CA forum. You can also search for all the National and State parks in CA in Google search.

You will get more responses from us Californians, I am sure.

PS. I hope I am not confusing you by adding a list of beaches in CA by county or city too.
