        A few questions re. SD

As we will be staying at the Four Seasons Aviara starting this Saturday, we will be driving to San Diego at least two times. We plan to stop by Old Town San Diego as I have been told it is a beautiful place. Could someone tell us about a few places around SD where parking is inexpensive and secure?

I will be checking out the links provided in the original post, but if you have recommendations about places (especially events) that may be of interest, please do post. Thanks. (We will be in the area until January 2nd.)

If you like musical theater check out Boomers in Downtown San Diego. Lots of fun. Get there early for trivia and give aways.

Just got back from a month starting in Phoenix and ended with a week at Wavecrest, Del Mar. I can recommend 3 restaurants in the Del Mar area and all three have certificates that can be found on restaurant.com (plan a little in advance and get $25 certs for $2):
Trattoria Ponte Vecchio - tasty Italian; a little pricey without $25 gift certificate
Pacifica - priced right for lunch, greta seafood and decent ocean views
Elijah's - Del Mar Heights road (shopping plaza) - good deli food, just like bubby makes!
            enjoy ,
            Steve

If in SD check out my Uncle's Restaurant Rated #1 by the locals favorite. The food Tastes as good as any place in NY. I was told by a few that good Italian food is very hard to find in SD, He named it from the restaurant he worked at in NYC when he was here, Maybe you heard of Mama Leone's? DiLeone's Italian Restaurant, El Cajon, Ca

We'll try your uncle's restaurant, Frank. It's always nice to get a new name. As to it being difficult to find Italian.......Little Italy has quite a range (but it's essentially right at the port; good to have a name that doesn't require going into downtown).

                  Frank,

I would like to try your uncle's restaurant but unfortunately it is in El Cajon. We haven't been to El Cajon in over 15 years. We go to San Diego frequently to play tourist as we live just an hour from San Diego. However, El Cajon is a long distance out of the way. If we do ever get over that way, we will definitely give it a try.

We lived in the San Diego area for 20 years and now live just an hour north of there. We frequently play tourist staying 2 or 3 nights downtown. I am very familiar with the whole area, including Baja California, La Jolla ( lived there right on the cove ), etc. north. I would be glad to answer any questions.
