  • Capri By The Sea at San Diego - anyone been there?

Hi all....we are considering staying at Capri By The Sea in the future and were wondering what it is like. Has anyone been there recently? I understand it was an ORE resort and is now under VRI.

Any and all feedback welcome. One of these days we will stay at all or most of the CA coastal resorts.

    Thanks.

    Hi Red
Haven't been there but I'm interested in replies, too. We grabbed a week in April from TPI for a 2/bdrm. Figured it would be a nice time of year for a week in So Cal after a winter up in the mountains. It's a drive to for us although it is a "fur piece." Anyone with any info to contribute would sure be appreciated.

      Julie,

I called the resort manager and can't find my notes but he said that all the 1 BR units were ocean view and there were very few timeshare units in the building. It is mostly owner occupied.

I will post more when I find my notes.

What a dump! No one should accept a trade there.(Except me)

Really, I love the place. The rooms are nothing to brag about, but comfortable. Nice, full kitchen with all the necessities. The pool is half a block down the street. I love the location. Right on the ocean front walk with great ocean views. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. What I like best are the bicycle trails. There must be 20 miles of them right out your door, both ocean and bay front. There are several bike rentals nearby. I would love to own there but I can't figure out the VRI system of reserving units there and fear I wouldn't be able to get in very often.
We have stayed there twice and have upcomong trades there the next 2 years.

          Thanks Kenny (and John, too)

I guess I'll be taking my fancy smancy 22 speed bicycle that Hubby got me last year. I think I've ridden it twice. It's a bit too hilly here for my out of shape legs to handle. I'll have no excuse at sea level on level trails!

Do either of you guys know if there are barbeques on site?

Looks like a good time to me!
