  • Disneyland/ California Adventure CA crowd/park updates

We have So Cal Annual Passes (restricted) and they just opened up again after blacking out July through third week of August.

August 27th 2007 end of summer.....the crowds were light today, a Monday, and the longest line we saw was at the new Finding Nemo submarine ride at 60 minutes. Next door at Autopia the wait was 50 minutes...must have been spill over from Nemo. We did not make it throughout the entire park as we are selective since we can come and go with our passes.

The rest of the both parks the max wait was 15 minutes (Grizzly River Run, Soaring Over CA, Indiana Jones, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters) with most with no wait or no more than five minute waits. Several rides we just walked right into the front of the line and got on including Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, Golden Zephyr, Mulholland Madness, and Orange Stinger.

We love this time of year at the parks when the crowds go home.

    Hi Red O
My wife and I are visiting LA for 1 week in September...As we staying at the Peacock in Anaheim, we are planning on visiting Disney one day.
Can you advise the most cost effective way of getting 1 day passes???
What are your favorite rides and attractions??? Appreciate any info you can provide.
    Best wishes,
    Paul

Paul be sure you take a hopper ticket and do the California side first since that side closes early.

        Paul,

Costco might be your best bet. I really do not know since we never get one day passes. There should be others here that know.

Let me know if you are interested in an Angel game...I may be able to help you out on that one. What dates are you here?

        John

Not Frank, but I can answer. It's California Adventure. There are two parks, Disneyland and California Adventure. In order to go to both you need a park hopper, otherwise you'll pay separately for admission to each. There is lots of great information on the Disneyland website about what is in each park, show times, what rides are closed during your visit, all of that "stuff".

              Visited Disney last week

Got over to Disney last Thursday on my birthday (9/20)... Hit City Hall to get my Disney birthday button and wore it for entire day. It was fun having strangers wish me a happy birthday all day. After getting button we went back to California park in the am
and were able to walk right in/on most of rides with no wait. (Didnt do any of thrill rides in back side of park)
Really enjoyed Soarin Over California and the Grand Rafting water ride
(plan on getting wet). By time we got over to Disneyland after lunch, most
of the rides were 30 to 60 minute wait. Unfortuately we had to leave late
afternoon for dinner with my son in Manhattan Beach (Pancho's and it was wonderful). Haunted Mansion was closed...I believe they are redoing
for Halloween. All in all, it was a fun day. Info on this thread was helpful....Thanks....Paul

Went to Disneyland today.....cloudy and cool.....crowds were not too bad for a Friday. Arrived around 12:30 p.m. and the lines were about 10 to 25 mins for most of the rides except Nemo which was 60 minutes plus. We left at 5:30 p.m. and it was getting a bit more crowded.

We got fast passes for The Haunted Mansion so we walked right in at our time. It was decked out for Halloween and Christmas and was fun.

Thunder Mountain RR was 15 minute wait.

Pooh and Friends was less than 5 minute wait.

Carousel was less than 5 min wait.

Peter Pan ride was 25 minutes.....we have to wait and go on this almost every time for our four year old. It drives us crazy but he loves it so much that it is worth it.

This is a great time of the year to go to Disneyland. Things have quieted down from the summer and the holiday rush isn't on yet.

I would recommend two days if you are going to do both parks. I can barely do Disneyland in one day! But that's me!!! Sooo much to do!
