I was lucky enough to see what all the hype was about Laguna Beach this past year. Now I have to find a way to get back there. Man is it beautiful there. We had a great ocean view restaurant that was on the 3rd or 4th floor.
Have Fun
Gord, have a good one. Bring a sweatshirt as we are having May Gray today.

Hey Red O
Did that storm ever materialize last week end in LA area???
Man, they started hyping that storm on Tuesday forcasting rain all day Thurs, all day Fri, and into Saturday. We were really bummed thinking
that the end our vacation was going to be a washout, but thankfully
weather people were wrong... We had beautiful weather Thurs and Fri... When we flew out of LAX Saturday am there was a very light rain.... You gotta get those LA weather people to chill a bit...They sure over hyped
that one....
Regards and good luck to your Angels....

Yes, we were walking our marina this morning and felt some raindrops on our face but it didn't amount to much. You cannot depend on our weather, Gordon, so take layers with you and an umbrella too, just in case.

It sure did and we loved every minute of it. We needed it so badly and it may help against the wild fires too. I believe, we had half an inch.
I'm sitting out on the deck with the sun beating down, watching the beautiful blue ocean and listening to the pounding of the surf
After getting in late last night, it was waking up early to go the the AGM where I got to meet Iconnections and her DH. All resorts have their issues in Laguna Surf is no different than any other where some folks never seem to be happy about one thing or another.
Other than that, DW joined up after the meeting and we all went for lunch to a Thai place that Emmy recommended. She showed us to a couple other restaurants that we will sure to check out over the course of the week! Thanks Emmy!

I am just green with envy. When we stayed at LS the last time on the ocean side we would leave the windows open to hear the surf all night long.
Gotta love the Weber grills and if you are lucky and the sky is clear you will see the sunset over Santa Catalina too.
Isn't Emmy the sweetest thing ever??? I can't wait to meet Peter.
and do go to the Penguin for breakfast if you get a chance. Maybe 5 blocks south on the PCH. DH & DS love the french toast there. My fave is the cheese and spinach omelette. Say hello to JoAnne. Quite a divey looking place but a Laguna Beach instituition as is the bar a few blocks further south. I forget it's real name we always called it the Dirty Bird. DOD used to go there 50 years ago when he was serving in the Marine Corp at El Toro.

Hi Gordon, we just stepped inside the door so I just read your message. It was very nice meeting you and your wife. Have a wonderful week as the weather is great. By the way, the ocean water is about 65 F so quite cool.
We didn't stay at Las Brisas because there were no tables in the shade but we ended up at the little place next to the gray house which is next to you. We passed it this afternoon. It has little shops when you go in but the terrace is overlooking the beach and ocean and we had a glass of wine there.
This is a great resort with a great location. We own a Laguna season week. It is quite a challenge actually getting a week. We have to call in on the trigger day and when I called last month to secure our 10th anniversary week at Laguna surf my called got dropped 4 different times. By the time I got through all the ocean view rooms were booked. I was so sad I wanted to cry.
We did secure a week in Oct 2008 which will be great . . . just won't be our 10th anniversary . . . It would have been really cool cause we stayed there for our honeymoon . . . .
