  • San Francisco - September/October

How is San Francisco in September & October? If you have stayed in the timeshares, how would you rate them? Any change of getting a two bedroom there?

  • #2
Fall is perfect in San Francisco! You may get some fog, but nothing like that during the Summer.

There are three timeshares in SF, as far as I know.
    • SVC - FIshermens Wharf
    • SVC - Donatello
    • WorldMark San Francisco (previously the Juliana Hotel)

As far as I know, none of these have 2 BR units. If you must have 2BR units you may want to consider WorldMark Windsor (1 hr North of SF)

SF is wonderful in September! But wine country is even better: the vines are laden with fruit, it's sunny and warm during the day, and the crowds have thinned out a bit.

Luanne: Thanks for the correction. Being from the South Bay Area we really don't have any inclination to stay in SF for an extended period of time, so I haven't kept track of the TS situation inthe city.

Do you know if any of the ones you mentioned has units larger than a 1 BR?

          Availability-wise...

WorldMark San Francisco and WorldMark Windsor have lots of availability starting in mid August through September and beyond.

No, I don't. I actually went over to TUG and took a look at what resorts were in SF. We live 45 minutes away, so we don't use timeshares when we go into the city either.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Nob Hill Inn has a couple of larger units.

                Jackson Court is another timeshare.

I would say a 2BDRM would be damn near impossible at least thru RCI. I've seen them but they are extremely rare. If you can trade thru SFX and get Fisherman Wharf it would be your best bet. They aren't ALL 2BDRMs there they have 1BDRM as well. I don't know the physical numbers.

I have stayed at Club Donatello and really enjoyed the location in the city and the unit but they are all studios. We went in late August and the weather was terrific.

This is all I see right now in RCI and only with a VRI preference. A non-VRI tiger doesn;t see them.

My wife has had double knee replacement and steps aren't easy for her, are there any timeshares that we should avoid in San Francisco?

Scratch Nob Hill Inn and Jackson Court and I think Powell Place unless you could get a first floor unit location.

We were there a year ago in October, which was harvest season...it was gorgeous! We stayed at the Worldmark Windsor, which was close enough to enjoy SF during the day if we wanted, and gave us plenty of time to explore the beautiful wine country.

do you mind me asking, Connie, how you worked that exchange? Was it a regular exchange or something last minute?

I'm hoping to get some last minute availability, either through rental from Wyndham or whatever to that resort in mid September. It goes against my nature not to firm up plans now but I only need three days and hate to "waste" a whole week.

                          Thanks in advance.

You can always get a week via exchange and give the un-needed days away to someone on this forum
