  • Lawrence Welk Escondido vs. Westin Mission Hills

    I think I'm crazy...

I have units reserved for both places for the week of 4/3/09. I didn't think Palm Springs would come through, so I reserved at LWR in Escondido to make sure we had a good spring break place to go next year. Well, needless to say, the Westin Mission Hills exchange came through, so now I can't decide if we should try a new place and risk having mediocre weather (there's still so much to do in the San Diego area), or stick to going to our favorite place - WMH.

You know you're really spoiled when this is the dilemna you face...

    Thoughts??

We went to San Diego Country Estates in January 08 and Westin Mission Hills in April 07.

They were both great vacations but if I were in your position I would go to the new/different resort and enjoy Anza Borrego State Park, Laguna State Park, San Diego Wild Animal Park, and all the stuff to do on the beach between Oceanside and San Diego.

      been to both

      They are both great resorts.

WMH: great resort and pool area. Access to Westin Hotel. Palm Springs so
      lots of desert activities.

LW: Good resort. Stayed before renovations so maybe now it is a great resort. The plus is that it is close to san diego and its attrations and close to carlsbad (legoland/beaches) and also disneyland. But it is about an 1.5 hours to disney and about an 1 hour to san diego as well.

      Win/Win situation.

Thanks for the replies. My dad is joining us, (and always does when we have gone to Mission Hills in the past) so we are going to try Lawrence Welk. I had forgotten about Anza Borrego - it should be very nice at that time of year. My daughter's school friend's family is going to use our WMH week.

A high class problem, indeed. Sorry I'll miss you at WMH, but sounds like you're in for a great trip.
