  • Villa L'Auberge, unit 602

    Hello everyone,

I am in the process of inquiring on a resale of unit 602 at Villa L'Auberge. Does anyone know about this unit? I know it is a middle unit on the first floor of the first building... Is the view really bad, as I know it doesn't have an oceanview? Is the noise alright? I'm ok with it being a first floor, as my father is handicapped and he might come along sometimes, too. But, others have indicated it is located on a steep hill from the hotel...?

I appreciate any info anyone may have. Thank you!

    Hi Ddee555 -

I am an owner at Villa L'Auberge and I'll try to give you some information. There are only 12 units altogether (2 2-story buildings each with 6 units). Unit 602 is one of only two or three units that does not have an ocean view - all the other units do have ocean views. I believe that Unit 602 would overlook the parking lot. It is a first floor unit and I don't believe (but am not positive) that their would be any stairs to climb to get into the unit from the parking lot. However, if you want to walk from the building to the L'Auberge Del Mar hotel (including the swimming pool) or to the shops/restaurants at Del Mar Plaza it would require walking up a small hill. To get from the building to the beach is about a 7 minute walk downhill. We love Villa L'Auberge. It's great to be in the heart of Del Mar - and so much to do in the area. The units were recently re-decorated and are very nice. It's a very cozy boutique style timeshare.

Thank you, HappyTrails, for sharing. The way that you describe it, it doesn't seem too bad--the view. Of course, I would love oceanview for my dad, who will likely spend more time in the unit than the rest of my family, but so long as it isn't like a "motel"-looking parking lot--with the cars practically in the living room--I can live with that.

Also, I can live with a small hill to the hotel and the plaza. My father is not wheel-chair bound yet; but he does walk with a cane. So long as it is only a five-minute walk or so, it should be alright. I want him to enjoy the grounds and the sea air!

I have two more questions for you, if that is alright...? One, is 602 in the building furthest from the train tracks? (concerned about the noise). And two, do you know anything about the beauty spa? I would like my mom to be pampered a bit each year we go (for her birthday), and I know some spas are better than others--just want to make sure it is worth it.

Thank you for your help. I certainly appreciate it.

The building in which unit 602 is located is further away from the railroad tracks than the other building - but I am sure that you will hear the train when it passes through. Although the train is loud, you become conditioned to it. It really doesn't bother me - and I almost actually kind of like it (I always enjoyed trains when i was growing up). I have not used the spa at the hotel but I am sure it is VERY nice - as it is a luxury boutique hotel and I've read some nice things about the spa specifically.
