  • Red Wolf Squaw Valley

    Hi,

We are debating staying at Red Wolf Squaw Valley in the summer (we have 2 kids 9 and 14). I see reviews for the winter / snow months but not much about summer activities. Has anyone stayed there in the summer and know much about activities at the resort and in the area?

    Thanks for any insights.

Lots to do in the area!!. I stayed at Red Wolfe, No Lake Tahoe, not the Squaw Valley One. We did both of the gondolas, did the drive around the lake, love the Vikingsholm overlook. You can do the paddlewheeler to Vikingsholm. Lots of hiking, The Ponderosa/Bonanza closed. Also a day trip to Virginia City is fun. I have pics on Snapfish if you'd like to see them. shaggy

      Looks Great

Thanks for the reply .. I looked around on the TS forums and looked up your snapfish information. Tahoe (and Yosemite) photos looked great.

        Summer in Tahoe....we love it.

Well the biggest issue is it is not on the Lake and you would have to travel for summer activities there. But up at Squaw they have a summer camp 'High Camp' toward the top of the mountain with swimming pool and other activities.

Plus mountain biking and horseback riding are very close. I would not mind staying there myself but I think I prefer the Lakeside resorts more during the summer as we like to rent boats and jet ski.
