Lawren, I remember I posted or told you on the phone to go. It is such a contrast from the beach scene. We love that location and also Lake Arrowhead. We like it in winter, fall and spring when the schools are not out. When we get our fist little bit of snow, many locals go there to see it or play in the snow. Traffic can be bad on the week-ends.

We lived in the San Bernardino Mountains just outside of Blue Jay for 2-1/2 years after we were married. Most of the locals know to stay inside as much as possible right after it snows - especially on a weekend - and leave the roads to the flatlanders so they can crash into each other.

The only significant car accident I've been involved in my life was near Arrowhead - flatlander who lost control of his car on a snow packed curve, went into a four wheel slide that carried him across the center of the road, off one other car and side on into us.

He kept arguing about how it wasn't his fault because he had studded tires on his car, as if he thought that studded tires was like driving on bare pavement.

We stayed a week at Lagonita Lodge about 15 years ago or so. We had a unit overlooking the lake and liked it very much except for the tiny bedroom. I am glad to hear that the resort is still nice.

We have been to Big Bear many many times as it is one of our favorite local getaways. Our son use to compete in the 3 triathlons every year at Big Bear.
