I keep thinking about this problem and wished that the Department of Real Estate would include in the contract that re-sale values are worth a dime on the dollar, if that, when you buy a timeshare from the developer because that would give the developers a big incentive to keep re-sale values up for us and not work against us. They will find ways to do this as their new sales depend on it.

We all need to write the DRE and complain about the developers who take away perks that come with the sale of the original contract.

      Just a thought....

      Hi Kurt,

I would love to attend a presentation and ask all the fun questions . However, my DH won't go with me, so I can't go. He asked if he could sign a paper saying that I make all the timeshare decisions , but they want both of us there. Oh well. It would be a nice escape for me, though!

I think the golf course view is pretty nice....at least it is wide vista instead of a block wall or other buildings. Not sure how the lower floor view is but probably similar since it is on a hill. I see your point about the upper floor that you are in could face the ocean for a ocean view but the lower floors would be looking at the pool or that hill next to the pool wouldn't they?

My understanding is the section you are in has its own pool (your pics) and will be far from the main area which is on the front side of the Sheraton. There is a temp lobby there to handle the first phase that you are staying in.
You are right, the golf course view is just fine. We aren't sitting here looking out the window all that much, anyhow, and we aren't probably ever going to be blocked by anything in the future. Yes, if the balconies were on the other side (pool, ocean), then the lower floors would be looking at landscaping.

The construction hasn't been terribly disruptive. The owners here are very nice and seem to be enjoying themselves. I hope that they never try and sell their week and find out that the HGVC points don't transfer. I read about that even before the resort opened (probably here in TS4Ms!), so I have been surprised to see resale prices so high on various websites. Of course, if I wanted to buy a fixed week and didn't care about the HGVC points, I might be able to find a deal! Ha ha!

Yes, there is a temp lobby (teeny tiny) in the oceanview building that is checking folks in. I suppose that they will build that into a unit once they no longer need it.

I love the Sheraton next door. People are so nice there. It's nicely landscaped and really looks great.

PS. I see that John already mentioned that there is a golf course view.
          Hi Emmy,

We are enjoying our stay here, I think. It's nice and new and clean and comfortable. Our 6-year-old loves Legoland, but our 9-year-old is not showing any interest this year . She just wants to go to the beach or a pool (sadly, the pool is not done yet and won't be open until August 15, they say). Our view is golf course/hills. It is wide open and unobstructed.

I'd rather be on Maui , but wouldn't we all? This is at least within driving distance for a getaway.
