    Sorry about that....

    and Luanne? tattletale!

There has got to be something in or near Hilo that I can pass off as a day trip and conveniently get hungry...
Uhh, maybe the volcano? Volcano National Park is about 45 minutes from Hilo.

Also Hilo, and that side of the island is interesting if you've never been there (and even if you have). Less touristy, more "Hawaiian" in many ways.

      Hot fudge and caramel sundaes!!!!

Thank goodness we were very active the week we were in SFO because I would have gained 10 pounds just on those!

Oh gosh, how could I have forgotten that? I haven't been in years. I think it's time to go again.

Volcanoes sound good. Volcanoes may sound good enough for 2 Jack stops!

Any reason I shouldn't take Powell Place? I only have a few hours to decide.

Neighborhood looks good. Anyone been there recently? Unit condition info?
Hi Glitter - had to chime in with some info.

Powell Place is an Edwardian style property on Nob Hill. The property has excellent management and is beautifully maintained. The location is "great". You can walk across the street to the Fairmont Hotel. Fabulous view at the top where you can enjoy cocktails and dancing.

You are about a 5 minute walk down California Street to China Town (Grant st). You are about 2 small blocks away from Union Sq. with great shopping. You have to visit the new Westfield Shopping Center on Market St. (about a 15 min. walk from the property). They have the new Bloomingdales and a host of other incredible stores).

You can catch a Cable Car outside the property and go to Fishermans Wharf and Ghiradelli Sq. Also, take walks along the Embarcadero and have a great lunch at the renovated Ferry Building.

While at Fishermans Wharf, catch a ferry over to Sausalito or Tiburon for the afternoon.

There are so many good restaurants that I could recommend, depending on what you personally like. But for Chinese Dim Sum, the best is at Yank Sing at the Rincon Center on Howard St. on Sundays (about a 7 min. cab ride from property). SF is one of the food capitals of the world... It's what kept me here

                  Enjoy...

Thanks, Mark! It didn't take more than a few minutes before I confirmed, I called the resort, looked up some reviews, and I am really pleased. A few hours later, I booked my kids and their dad into Grand Timber Lodge for spring break, saw it on your Sell Off list... Today is a very happy SFX day
