  • Legoland Tickets

We are going to Legoland the first week of April, 2009. Are there any good deal on tickets? There will be 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 children.

Here is a great site that always has an up to date list of popular So Cal & Orlando attraction discounts and tickets. This is the link for the info they have on LegoLand: MouseSavers.com - LEGOLAND California and Sea Life Aquarium Discounts and Deals

We usually buy the Costco 3-month passes because if we go at least two times within those three months, I think it pays for itself. I have always gotten the kids the annual passes which have been "free" for the past two years with $75 worth of Lego purchases during a promotion which runs in the summer (I think). Since that won't help you for April, I would look into the Costco passes if you are planning to go for more than one visit during your stay. I also think that there used to be some AAA deals out there, like buy 1 day, 2nd day free or something like that.

Most definitely! I think it is really geared for the 2-10 year-olds, so you should be good to go! The rides are super mellow and there is a great kid water play area. There are also now some faster rides and things for the older kids, but we really like it for the littler ones.

Legoland always sounds like fun, but when we talk about So Cal trips, we always end up saying, yes, but for nearly the same price wouldn't the kids (now 1 1/2 and 4) be happier in Disneyland for the day? But then we're BIG Disneyland fans. Lately on boards though I've been seeing a lot of people saying a lot of great things about it, so maybe we'll consider giving it a shot on our next trip.

Thanks for the Costco information, my daughter is a member. How many days should we allow for Legoland with the boys?

We brought my grandson, who was 6 last year and he loved it there! I enjoyed it also because there were not a lot of lines, so things moved pretty smoothly.
The sealife section wasn't open at the time, but we spent many hours at the water features. He had a great time!
We also found the sculptures and cityscapes made from Legos amazing.
I'll upload some pictures to show you in a little bit.

When my kids were 8 & 5, we stayed in Carlsbad and went for four half-days? So we'd go in the morning and then head back to the timeshare for lunch, then hit the beach. Or we'd hit the beach in the morning and go to Legoland in the evening if they were open. So having the passes worked for us because we didn't feel the need to stay there all day. Parking was per day, so we could leave and come back during the same day.

When my kids were 9 & 6, we stayed at Marbrisa and just walked in, so no parking fees. My son (6) went 3x and my daughter (9) only went 2x.

The Aquarium wasn't open this past summer when we were there, so I imagine that would be another half day. Check to see if the passes cover the new Sea Life Aquarium.

Thanks for the pictures. Do the kids get to play with Legos there?

Yes, they do. they have a special building where the kids can play. I believe it's near the fire station.
