  • Renting a So. CA timeshare

I recently came to be the owner of a fixed week unit at Wave Crest in Del Mar. It is a fixed week with the last couple of days of racing season around Labor Day. We are looking to rent it this year, since we don't think we can make it out with the kids this year. What is the advice for the best way to advertise for rent? Also, we are looking at utilizing RCI in the years to come so we can visit Del Mar occasionally, or go to other resorts. Is RCI the best way to go? That is what we have heard from one or two people. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend you start to search rental sites as if you were the tenant and see which ones are the easiest to find and navigate. If you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy- eBay, MyResort, Craigslist, and Redweek are options you can look into. If you prefer having a company assist with the process you may want to check into Timeshares Only or Timeshare Help Center.

For exchange- you'll also have choices. Your resorts shows on the accept list for SFX, so you may want to investigate a smaller exchange company as well as your options with RCI.

Good luck and welcome to these forums!

Post your ad on Craigs List > San Diego > Vacation Rentals
san diego vacation rentals classifieds - craigslist

Make sure to include pictures of the resort and surrounding area.
Search on Wave Crest, and you'll find a good example out there right now.
