We are exchanging into a Grand Pacific Palisades two bedroom in April. From the reviews I've read, it appears that the kids' pool area and the area by the restaurant can be noisy. Which rooms are away from those areas and what kind of view can we expect? Thanks!

Poolside Noise
I have never had a noise problem in any units at this location and have stayed there half a dozen times.
The views of the ocean and flower fields are the best but other units face inland.
The front doors of most units face the family pool area and there is an adult pool.
Though I haven't been there in a couple years the restaurant is across the parking lot and not connected to the resort. They were building new units the last time I was there that were on the north end of the property.
Paying a daily rate to park was my only complaint.

What you want if you can get it is Villa C on the third floor which is the top floor....especially in April so you can see the flower fields and the ocean. Second floor is fine too but you will hear your neighbors upstairs. To get ocean view as an exchanger GPR tries to get you to take a tour of the Marbrisa property. Negotiate for more if you can....like ocean view and some tickets to lego land or wherever you want to go. And just say NO to buying from the developer.
Otherwise if you get park view then I recommend a high floor on the street side and not overlooking the parking lot. The family pool is not really an issue unless you keep your door propped open. Most of the resort surrounds the family pool.
The quietest units are in Villa C unit numbers x71 to x77."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."

161 has a block wall in front so it is a partial view. Plus it is at a entrance with a gate that is normally broken so it is open to the public. I would not want to stay there and my wife has stated the same.
We would stay in 371-77 or 271-77 in a heartbeat, they will have a better view and be less exposed.
Originally posted by calgal View PostI just reserved room 161 for our stay in June. Second and third floor versions of the wrap around were already taken. Any sense of whether 161 will be good, or should I call back and request one of the x71-77s? We are not noise sensitive (4 kids in the family) but like a nice view."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be....
