  • Los Angeles had a big earthquake!

It shook us up because it is so close this time. We were watching the Finale of Survivor. We should get aftershocks later.

The earthquake was in Hawthorne which is near Los Angeles and it is only a moderate one. It felt pretty strong to us.

NCV welcomed me with a California quake!

I just checked in today. This place is fantastic. I was walking across the dining room and I saw the refrigerator shaking like a washing machine. Now on the news they are reporting a 4.7 quake.

          Welcome to California!

If I remember correctly-last time you were here you either went on a tour or were interested in seeing the San Andreas Fault line. Nothing like the real thing, eh?

Yes I did want to see the San Andreas Fault line. Well I guess San Andreas was talking to me this time!

Our local weather geek showed us a map of earthquakes in the USA over the past 7 days. I don't know how it compares to any other week but there have been a lot of quakes.

Website is posted, take a look.

Billy, One apartment I rented for a few years was right over the subway line. Those earthquakes are nothing and we sleep right through them.

I'd hazard a guess that Californians buy the most double stick tape and tacky clay per capita though.

                Enjoy Newport.

OMG living near a subway or the LIRR. You are right. That is a nuisance. Earthquakes are at least an infrequent event.

Having been through Loma Prieta in 1989, it's not a big earthquake to me unless a bridge and a couple of freeways collapse.

No, it wasn't a big earthquake but it sure felt like one in some coastal community areas and it made a lot of noise. We didn't know what to expect further. It shook us up but no damage except for paintings hanging crooked.

Long Beach had two big storefront windows broken and there was damage at one of the movie theaters too closer to where the earthquake was.

Hey Emmy.....I hope you are not too shook up. It was just a little rock n roll here in central OC. Nothing to write home about.

Take care. Keep your earthquake kits up to date.

I have actually stood right on the San Andreas Fault line near Hollister, CA.

We felt the earthquake Sunday night over here in Murrieta but it was pretty weak and short.
