  • Posting from GEVC Lighthouse Pointe Resort

The question was is this resort worth coming to?
There are pros and cons to that answer. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

    Pros:
The cabins are small but A+.

The cabins have one bedroom ,a living room and a full kitchen-convection/microwave oven and all the appliances too many to mention, a gas fireplace, two TV’s-one flat screen in the living room & one smaller one in the bedroom. The furniture is new and very nice. They even supply coffee (Folgers) 11.5oz reg & 13oz decaf.

The resort has 4 barbeque webers. They clean them every morning and put new charcoal in them so they’re all set up and ready to cook. Fuel and cooking utensils are also by the webers.

There is a free washer & dryer on site and they supply the soap .

Free wi-fi if you are in or near the office. The office told me that they are planning to put up a tower so every cabin can receive free internet.

I don’t know if this is good or bad -
The cabins are comfortable for two. Any more and it would feel crowded. The resort is very quiet. I would say the age of people staying here is 50 and above. It is not a place for young kids for they would not have anything to do.

    Cons:
Nothing to do on the grounds of this resort. There is a small pool which was not working. The machine that pumps the hot water broke down but I can see that they are working on the problem.

It is basically a campground with cabins on it. And it feels that way once you walk out of you’re A+ cabin.
Maybe it wont look like a campground when they finish building the rest of the six cabins.

This resort is a good starting point for all the sites in this area.

We drove to the high bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean along Highway 1 to Fort Bragg . We stopped in a few little towns which have not change since the 50‘s. 1 ½ hr drive one way.
    What an awesome drive.

We also drove through some mountains roads and went through a redwood forest on our way to Anderson Valley to the wineries.

There is some awesome drives up here and what a rush one gets looking at some of the scenery.

If you have never seen the redwoods or the northern coast of California, you need to.

I will write a full review when I get back home.

The area sounds just like I imagined it would! I envy you! Can't wait to hear the full report.

I was just looking at Pacific Coast availability in RCI (until it froze) and saw GEVC Lighthouse Pointe Resort and thought of you.

              Thanks for your preview posting.

Is the resort easy to get to?

Are there any supermarkets or restaurants easily accessed nearby or on the way to the resort?

                Are pets allowed?

Is the resort easy to get to?

SFO is 140 miles away it will take at least 3 ½ hours to drive because the roads are very curvy.

Are there any supermarkets or restaurants easily accessed nearby or on the way to the resort?

The closest grocery store is 4 miles north in Manchester. Open 7:30am - 7:00pm.

The closest liquor store which supplies milk & eggs etc is 1 mile in Point Arena. Open 9:am - 10m

The closest gas is 1 mile in Point Arena open 8:00am- 5:30pm

                    Are pets allowed?
                    NO
