  • Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort and Monterey?

I have a 24 hour hold on this Resort (RCI) for June 2010. (Hotel room.)

Is there enough to see and do for a full week in the Monterey area? 1 to 1 1/2 hours away day trip would be OK.

    Definately!

Go to the aquarium and Cannery Row.
    Go on a wine tour.
    Hike in Los Lobos Park.
Drive thru Pebble Beach and down the PCH to Big Sur.
Spend a day shopping and dining in Carmel by the Sea.
Visit the home of John Steinbach.

I'm going back in July for a week next year and cannot wait!

PS The US Open is June 17-20, 2010 at Pebble Beach.

I have been to the last 2 US Opens. This would make it 3 in a row. And I like Tennis better than Golf.

You won't be disappointed! We go several times a year and never tire of the area. Definite go to Point Lobos State Park as Lauren suggested. Very nice trails with wonderful views of the ocean.

Elkhorn Slough Safari Nature Tours | Wetlands | Sea Otters, Harbor Seals | National Estuarine Reserve | Moss Landing, California This is a fun thing to do to see lots of wildlife. We really enjoyed this way of seeing all the wonderful wildlife in the area.

Drive down Hwy 1 to Big Sur. Just be sure to do this on a clear day. Many times during the summer the coast can be foggy. Be prepared for cooler weather. It probably will be in the 60's to low 70's for a high. It drops into the 50's at night.

We're heading to Pacific Grove on Friday for a week. Can't wait for our relaxing week over there! We live in the Central Valley and it has been in the high 90's here..........2.5 hours away in Pacific Grove and it is going to be 63. Here's the weather site for that area.

I know you will enjoy your time there.
