New criticism of OLCC on TUG

This is going to create a whole new debate. The "OLCC Defender," we should get her a superhero cape that says just that, is controlling herself for now. She is being way easier on the new poster than she was on me when I said basically the same exact things about OLCC.

I am going to watch this one very closely.

LOL. I thought it was you, just under a different screen name. Obviously, Vickie knows about how others view her posts. She is smart enough to come to this forum and find out. I believe that is helping to moderate what some would call snootiness.

It is interesting that Vickie would reach out to help the exchanger in the way that she did. It seems that that action would be either from a paid employee or someone who really does take pride in her resort enough to defend it to the end.

It really doesn't matter to me. I just find it amuzing.

Wow!

I had been following that poster's questions about OL. He was so looking forward to that vacation being everything it has been over-hyped to be.

Now he is saying exactly the same things that many others have said. Some of the reviews on Tripadvisor have been downright gross, something the health department needs to know about. I won't go into them, because you can go find them if you want.

The reason the response to this thread is so tempered is that everyone knows that this is a perfectly neutral person who had been looking forward to a great time at a wonderful place. He was the perfect person to confirm what others have been saying.

If when I go there next, in December, with my wife, brother-in-law, his wife, my mother-in-law, her significant other, my two nephews, my niece-in-law, and my two great niceces, you damn bet you I will be hot if my group gets treated like this, or if I get dissed in front of my family again, which the sales wench did last time!

I think Vickie is handling the situation very well. I hope she can keep doing that. She is trying to be helpful, that is for sure.

Are we sure she is not an employee of OLCC, disguising herself as an owner. That would make sense. I am on the board at Twin Rivers, Fraser CO, but I am not going to defend my resort to the end and not accept criticism with grace and dignity. If an exchanger really hated my resort, thought the housekeeping was less than stellar, I would contact our property managers and tell them that we had an unhappy customer that wrote about us on TUG.

Actually this is the MOST reasonably that I have ever seen Vickie treat a non-believer.

Not suprised. I had a friend who worked at OLCC. She confirmed to me what has been posted on this BBS before, Exchangers are routinely assigned to the older less desireable units/sections.

Not that they are discriminating exchangers but that their first obligation is to owners. She also told me that was a standard practice at the other mega timeshare resorts she worked at in Orlando.

If you get a chance, read the thread about "The worst resort you ever stayed at". The thing that was shocking to me (or maybe not) was how many"worst" replies there were for OLCC and Vistana. If you read reviews here on TUG on on RCI these generally have good reviews.

Just goes to show you, not everything is cut and dry the same for everyone. You know the saying Opinions are like *****. Everyones got one and there not all the same.

She does defend the place like she is being paid to, but she really has created far too elaborate of a ruse to be an employee, IMO.

From Indiana, doctor's wife, swimming pool at home, banana splits, attends meetings, on and on. Way more than an employee would do to create a false identity, I would think.

If you'll look at the Tripadvisor rankings I put together, OL falls in the middle on all of them. I ranked those reviews by Most Lowest (%) Ratings, Most Highest (%) Ratings, and by Tripadvisor Popularity Index (compared to other hotels in the same area).

OL was neither good, nor bad, just in the middle, certainly not a place that deserves all the attention it gets.
