  • Summer Bay or Orange lake CC?

Well it looks like my family voted down 2 weeks in Orlando, They want to do 1 week at a Beach resort not to far from Orlando and then 1 week in Orlando.
I had my heart set on OLCC but since we will only be in Orlando 1 week I may not be enjoying the resort to much with the parks. Now do I go for Summer bay or still go to OLCC?

    Been to both

I think it depends on what you want. I haven't stayed in the condos at Summer Bay, only the Houses. They were one of my favorite timeshares, but only for a couple of reasons. DH and I didn't do any parks that trip, so really enjoyed lounging by the pool, etc. Don't have a pool at home, etc. OL is larger with lots of activities, but SB also has lots of activities. OLCC is a little bit closer to Disney. OLCC has the new Lazy River. The last unit we had at OLCC needed refurbished badly, the the unit at SB was showing some age also.

I think time of year might make a difference also. We were at SB in March, but it was a warm March. This year so far, probably would not spend much time in pool because it is much cooler.

Know this doesn't give you a plus or minus for either, but something to think about.

          Resort # 6884

          There's a 1-in-4 rule here.

                Nope.

I don't know if I can't see it because it's not there or if the 1-4 rule is invoked as I stayed there 3 years ago.

I've seen them rent for as little as $500-700 for a summer week and that was before the recession.

nope you should see it even with the one and 4, The resort is still the same resort as all 3 right? it is just the rooms are different and in different area's of the resort.

Yes. It's part of the same complex, but in a different location. I highly recommend these; private small pool (but big enough), garage, three bedrooms, three baths, shuttle to the parks. Nicely done.

                      Can you request one ?

Read the threads here and the reviews on TUG for more info.

I have read the reviews on it and thought it was Summer bay with 3 bedroom units. The room is nice but not my top priority since we will nnot be staying to much. I do want a nice pool to relax for a day or two.

If you do a search on Houses at Summer Bay here on TS4Ms, you will see some really good info.

One thread said not to get the Villas as they do not have lanais/balconies.

We adored the Houses! We have stayed there twice, and each time loved it more and more. The Villas do not have balconies, so I would never stay there, as you can't even step out to get a breath of fresh air.

We have a 3-bedrooom unit (not a house) reserved for 2 back-to-back weeks next February. I think it sleeps 10 or 12!
