  • Letter from Westgate to owners warning about ResortServices.org & DeedSolutions.org

I was just sent this by a client.... It was dated today.

    *******************

    Dear Westgate Owner,

We at Westgate Resorts value you as part of the Westgate family and work hard to provide you with a lifetime of vacations which exceed your expectations. We have recently learned that certain companies with no affiliation to Westgate may be contacting you, and incorrectly implying that they are affiliated with or related to Westgate Resorts in an effort to solicit services in connection with your Westgate Resorts timeshare ownership.

I would like to mention specifically that Westgate has filed a lawsuit against two of these companies: ResortServices.org and Deed Solutions to prevent them from further misrepresenting their affiliation with Westgate Resorts. Many of these companies offer their services for a fee which must be paid upfront - something Westgate does not in any case approve of or endorse. We urge you to contact our Owner Relations Department to confirm our affiliation with any company before you consider doing business with them.

You may call 1-800-925-9999 or 407-355-1105. You may also submit an online request here.

We are very excited to have you as members of the Westgate family and look forward to providing you with quality vacations for many years to come.

    Sincerely,

    David Siegel

It doesn't surprise me. I've recieved similar misrepresentations about our Polo Towers ownership and, a couple of weeks ago, recieved a call from someone who was trying to make it sound as if they were with Marriott. I guess they figure that anyone who owns timeshare is a sucker and an easy mark so they go after us.

The only problem is that Westgate is not beyond lying about things. I remember reports of them insisting they had ROFR on some resales when they did not.
