  • Orlando Resorts - II and RCI

I am planning my fall trip.
We have II - friends have RCI.

Does anyone know any places in Orlando that use both exchange companies? Thinking we could both try for the same place.

Hummm.....just checked out what I could with RCI not being a member. Why do they list Marriott Sable and Royal Palms? I thought they were only II?

They started out as RCI and later became dual affilated when Marriott went II. I believe RCI is the dominant exchange company there.

The Sheratons are with II and RCI.
And yes, those two Marriotts are dual affiliated but I just don't thnk RCI would get many deposits.

If you try for the dual-affiliated Marriotts (Cypress Harbour, Royal Palms, Sabal Palms), you may want to have the RCI members confirm first and follow with an II request for the same weekend check-in. I always saw more availability at these with II than with RCI.

Celebrity Resorts are dual-affiliated though I don't personally know about their quality or ease of trading in through either company. Club Seville and Oak Plantation and Polynesian Isles - same thing. Westgate Vacation Villas is dual though I don't recommend it.

Grand Beach is in both, more in RCI. Same with Sheraton Vistana Resort, although I understand that exchangers from the two companies are placed in different sections of this large resort.

Both Cypress Pointe phases are dual-affiliated. That'd probably be a great choice. I suspect it'd be a bit harder to get particular dates through II, not sure. HTH!

Thanks for the info. Been researching alot - only thing I haven't come to grips with is distance from Disney. This will be a Disney trip and I would prefer to be close to the park entrance.

I know the Marriott Palms are right there.
I believe the Sheraton Vistana Resort is also right there.
I don't think Grand Beach is as close as above.

Not sure about Cypress Point or Sheraton Vistana Villages. Anyone know?

Cypress Pointe is as close as you can get. Less than 1 mile to DTD. Even Vistana / Grand Beach are twice as far (as in TWO+ miles! ). So is Bonnet Creek (2mi) - although that is surrounded by Disney it is isolated and there is NOTHING to walk to. But you could walk to DTD from Cypress Pointe - with sidewalks/cross walks all the way. We've done it - not so with the others and a real rarity to have such a pedestrian friendly area with so many stores/restaurants/services within walking distance. Literally 100's of places to walk to within a mile of CP.

Cypress Pointe (both resorts) are also dual affiliated with RCI & II.

Grand Beach is across the street from Sheraton Vistana.

                All are very close.
