What do you like to do for adults in the Cocoa Beach Area. We have an exchange in Feb to the Cocoa Beach Resort.

If your exchange is into The Resort on Cocoa Beach you may want to be aware that - at least when we exchanged into there last year March - they assigned rooms on a first come basis. When we got there late on check in night, we got the dredges... which was actully fine for us.

When we checked out the following Saturday at 9am, the lobby was already a SWARM of people trying to get room assignments. I can only imagine how early the first people had showed up to get the best available view room!

I don't know if this is classified as an adult activity, but we did enjoy going to the Intercoastal and watching the manatees RIGHT THERE in the water.

If you can, read my review of Las olas on TUg. I never got around to writing a review of the Resort on cocoa Beach. We went on a two hour trour on the Island Queen. We spent the day at Merritt Island national Preserve, we saw a small nature center I believe called Sherwood Forest. we liked the pier at night. we went to downtown Cocoa. we like it there but it is about 5 hours north of us now, so we head further south.

We will be checking in this Dec 5 using a CMV UDI white week. I used to own there but then flipped it with out ever staying there. Looking foward to that trip. We will try to get a early flight and car rntal.

We're checking into the Ron Jon on 10/9 (or more likely arriving sometime on the 10th). Any restaurant suggestions or other must sees appreciated. (Already been to the Space Center.)

We like Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. Many of restaurants at port are good.

The Ron Jon's Surf Shop is right in Cocoa Beach. The pier is also a fun area. Dawn

What do you like to do for adults in the Cocoa Beach Area. We have an exchange in Feb to the Cocoa Beach Resort.

If you would like to see what the area is like, other than going to the beach, you could go out to SR 520 (make a right at the crossroads of A1A and 520) go out west about 20 miles to a place called "The Lone Cabbage" and take an airboat ride to get an idea of what the Florida Everglades is like. You would "fly" through the River of Grass on a cushion of air and see the wildlife and get some good local food at the "Lone Cabbage" restaurant. Try some local fish and even alligator tail, sit out on the deck and watch the "gators" swim around and watch the fish do some high jumping.

You can also take an "eco" boat ride on the River between the island and the mainland.

There's an excellent seafood restaurant on Cocoa Beach called the Florida Seafood Grill. The Rock Shrimp is excellent as is all their seafood and they have excellent food for the "landlubbers" too.

You can take a ride over to the Kennedy Space Center and see the history of "Space" that we are involved with. There is an excellent IMax movie there and 3D shows that are excellent. Then you can take a tour and see the launching pads for the Shuttles and rockets. If you're around for the launch, you can see it really close from Jetty Park on Cocoa Beach.

There is so much to do here and if you're around for a few days there will always be something interesting to do.

For anyone coming to the Cocoa Beach area I would suggest the Florida Seafood Grill. It's just as good if not better than Dixie Crossroads and you don't have to treck all the way to Titusville. The Rock Shrimp at Florida Seafood is even less expensive and you get more of them.

Where do you watch the manatees?

We have watched them at Blue Spring State Park, along the St. Johns, near Deltona, between Daytona and Orlando. We saw them in the shallow water if the spring bed leading to the St. Johns.

or, in cold months look for them at the cooling water outlets of power plants. So much so, in fact, that power plants that are closed, for rehabbing, are required to keep the warm water flowing artificially.
