Strategy for one night in April in Ft. Myers area

We will be staying at the one of the Hilton resorts on Marco Island Saturday to Saturday and will fly back home on Sunday. I would like to book one night somewhere in Ft. Myers, Sanibel or Captiva areas (just for change). I called both HGVC and VRI rental services. I can't book less than full week until 30 days before check in. Even after, they have three nights minimum stay rule. There is no way I could wait until 30 days before our check in (we are talking 2008 here!) There are not many RCI points resorts there either. Can Hilton owners make one night reservation with their points and then rent unit to me? Am I left with hotels only to choose from or there are other options?

Any info would be greatly appreciated,

The few times we have had to find a single night in SW Florida it has been in traditional accomodations through Priceline or Hotwire.

We did the similar thing a few years ago after our week in Sanibel. We didn't feel like going through the trouble of changing "resorts" so just got a hotel room near the airport for the last night.

We checked out of the condo but spent our last day on the beach. Then we drove to the hotel, showered & changed, went to dinner, then dropped off the rental car at the airport. The hotel shuttle picked us up. We had a really early flight out on Sunday, but the hotel shuttle dropped us off as well. I think it was about $50/night through hotels.com and worked out very well for us.

HGVC owners have the same minimum stay limitation:

The Club Reservation Window enables you to make reservations at HGVClub resorts as many as 276 days in advance of your preferred check-out date, for a minimum of a three (3) night stay.
