My wife got a call from Vistana to confrim our exchange and offer a VIP check in. Supposedly, its a quicker way to check in without waiting in line. I was pretty impressed with this phone call as my wife explained it to me. She was asked for preference of room and offered other tidbits of information. But Im now starting to feel a bit suspicious after thinking about it. When my wife mentioned we were going to try to get there by breakfast time, she was offered an 'exclusive' breakfast. Seems to me like they're trying to get us into a timeshare tour. Has anyone had this experience at this resort? My wife did know to ask if she was being offered a tour, and was told that its NOT a tour. But, I've learned not to trust anyone offering anything free over the phone.

I think you are probably wise to be cautious.. However, with that being said, kudos to Starwood for coming up with another great idea to generate tour opportunities without paying OPC's!
It's likely just a 30 minute presentation over bagels and coffee, so the time you save on check-in will still be spent at the breakfast.. But I have to say I'd much rather spend it sipping and munching than standing in line hoping to catch a desk clerk's attention!
If your personality is such that you have a difficult time saying no- it might be better if you didn't attend.. But if you are confident that you can resist any offer that might entice you to make an impulse buy- enjoy the time. Relax, listen, and if you do hear something that you think you can't do without, just remember to take your time and do your research to be sure it's right for your family. Any offer they make will still be available to you a week or two later!
Regardless, don't stress over it.. Have a great time in town, and thank you for choosing to vacation in Orlando! If you have any questions while you are here- don't hesitate to send me a message!my travel website: Vacation-Times.org.
