  • Daytona?

Asking again... I'm really not familiar with much of Florida - there are a few nice-looking resorts in the Daytona area for our spring break... is there some reason the area would be less than desirable over spring break? Is it too much of a spring break party destination?

I got the Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort, in Daytona, on a RCI last call 3 years ago and we still rate it as one of the nicest resorts we've stayed at.
Being from Canada I can't help you with the American Spring Break question, but if it's anything like Canadian Spring Break in Florida, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Right. The resort looks great. If it is a big spring break destination like Ft Lauderdale used to be, I'll have to pass (though I'll be bringing a 16 and 18 y.o., they'd probably love it). Am hoping someone with some local knowledge can let me know what the deal is there.

I don't think it's as big of a party place as it used to be.

My son and his friends stayed at Ocean Walk for college spring break 2 yrs ago and there was alot of drinking at the beach, pool etc. Alot of college kids around. This was mid-march. Definately still a college spring break destination. He did say there were some families at the pool. Your 18 yr old would probably love it

Thanks for this. I did find some other info indicating that Ocean Walk can be "party central." And you're right, my 18 y.o. would love it, but I think it'd probably put his younger brother in a bad spot and this would be a less than ideal opportunity for them to spend quality time together...

I am now considering areas a little further away but close enough for activities....
