  • Here's the aerial of an auction one in Englewood. The link's a little off, like that always seem to be, so slide it to the right a bit.

    Kinda funny.

    • The house we looked next to the condo in Post #115 is going to auction.

We've looked at it, so if there is any interest, let me know. It should go low.

      • Here's a Bonita (misspelled) Springs golf condo, at Worthington Country Club, east of I-75, that should go low.

Rapmarks may know something about that golf development (one of around 150 in SW FL). I don't recall it being there in the pre-Rapmarks days, when I played at Hunters Ridge next door.

        • yes Worthington was there when we looked, except we couldn't get past the gate. older community too and such high fees! golf is even higher.
When we looked around this area, condo units were something like $225 everywhere and our house was 200 with lower fees for a pretty nice community. Lots of lookers at the house directly across from us, elderly neighbors who are moving back near their children as he has moderate dementia.

                been there . . . seen it

It is in the first section of Rotonda, near Cape Haze Drive, so not far to Cape Haze, Placida, Boca Grande.

                Golf Course . . . 2 minutes.

POSTCARD Bonita Springs, FL Beach House Motel 1970's - eBay (item 370489496834 end time Apr-01-11 19:47:38 PDT)

When we first started going to Bonita Resort and Club there was one of these Mom & Pop stilt "motels" on the beach across the road. A gated golf community's "beach club" replaced it.
                  - - - - - -
Wow!!! I don't believe it. I checked the address of the Beach House Motel and BR&C, and this is the Mom & Pop motel that was across the road from BR&C. The bridge is over Big Hickory Pass. BR&C is now right across the road to the right, on the bayside.

This same picture today would be the gated community's "beach club" where the motel is, and midrise condo buildings on almost all the rest of the land this side of the pass, except for a small area which is a county park/beach access.

Across the bridge is pretty much the same today.

This appears to be the same are today, looking back from across the road:

This appears to be the same area to the left of the Beach House Motel as it appears today, looking from the Pass just this side of the bridge out toward the Gulf (to the left).

Well, anyway, that's Old Florida and now.

Very nice. The old was open and smaller-actually it looks lovely. The new is beautiful. Very nice area.

Thank you for showing this to us

When they were there, that was our walk-through to the beach. The beach club that replaced it is "no trespassing", so you walk through the county park access that is now the next property to the west.

Here is the current view from across the bridge, across the pass, looking back to the east. So, this is what's directly across the road. The first building is Bonita Resort & Club.

                        • All things considered, we have a reasonable homeowners insurance quote, and we have not done Wind Mitigation or a 4-Point Inspection.

It is from Citizen Insurance, which I recognized from previous googling, with stuff like this:

                          http://www.floridahomeownersinsuranc...rporation.html

                          Is this a problem?

                          • Do You Have Any Input About The Bonita Resort & Club?

We have an exchange for Dec. 3, 2011. The use of a Pontoon boat seems to be a plus. We have several friends in the area of Naples, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral. So we are looking for a place to sleep and doing day trips to get together with our friends. The last time we were in Fort Myers Beach we did an exchange into the SeaWatch on the Beach Resort (which is very nice Resort).

                            • JLB has stayed there a few times and it has a nice location. nothing fancy, but right across from the beach and on the "intercoastal". We went boating with him, again nothing fancy. but an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

                              • A certain psycho cyber-stalker once referred to BR&C's "threadbare sheets" because she knew we like the place.

I like to call it Spartan, and comfortable. It is one of our favorite lesser SWFL resorts. Well, was.

If you like nature, stuff like dolphins, or cruising up to a beach (at new Pass), or fishing, you will love the pontoon boats. You reserve them for morning or afternoon, I believe not more than a day before. Oftimes, there will be one not taken out . . . you can look and see.

You boat in Estero Bay, not the Gulf, but can go all the way to FMB, or to 41 HWY, or to the Vanderbilt Beach area, all by bay waterways.

Nice little pool. Nice hot tub. Nice BBQ grills.

                                What unit do you have?
