    • They're harder to find than 3-5 years ago, but we tried to get one in our neighborhood from HUD. They accepted an owner-occupant offer . . . $48,700. Similar to ours, smaller and without central AC and other updates, and not on water.

        • As I've said, there's not as many as three years ago, and the prices are quite a bit higher, but right now there are quite a few on "First Watch", meaning stuff is still working through the system.

          Here is one that is "Back on Market" that looks so good it makes me want to jump on it, while at the same time wonder what's wrong with it. I know the area, and it is nice:

              • there is a community called Riverwoods off Broadway in Estero, don't know its rules, but it the nicest mobile home community I have seen.
                Our friends rented in Crystal Lake moble home community in Naples and double wides went for $350k

                  Those little "trailer parks" near BR&C, and out on Estero Island, have always been pricey.

                  That's why we bought with the poor folks.

                    • Our friends from a certain other website, who sorta followed us to our Northern home, followed us to Florida this year.

                      They bought a very nice manufactured home in a very nice, gated park, in Sebring, for $19,000.

                      It's so secure you can't even get a gogglemap Street View.

                      • our friends bought a double wide in St Petersburg for ten thousand, they do not own the land, the lot rental keeps going up, like over 500 a month, then you have all the other associated bills. also different set of rules apply when you rent the space. my aunt ended up selling a really nice two bedroom for $4000, after paying the rent for several months after she moved out.
