    Cypress Pointe Resort (#2750)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are going with a check-in date of July 24 (Sunday check-in) and have two & three bedroom units from a RCI Exchange.

We are going on a cruise and won't be back till Monday, July 25, morning.

Also, my wife has had double knee replacement and stair are difficult for her.

    A couple of questions:

When should I call and request a first floor unit for us - the two bedroom unit and for both units to be close to each other?

When do I call and tell them we won't be there till Monday morning?

Will the construction at that time have any impact on the pools, etc.? We have 6 kids in the group and that is a big factor.

Call now and make your request. Many people with smaller children and elderly travelers do that right away so ground floor rooms are sometimes difficult to get. The grande villas (phase 2) have elevators. I do not think Cypress pointe resort(phase 1)has any elevators

That is correct. All eight residential buildings at CPR are 3 story, no elevators. Every unit is as close to the same as every other as is possible to achieve over 168 total units. Right now there is a difference in approx 100 units that have had round one of the ongoing 2010 Renovation work while the remainder are still as they were after the 2004 major unit renovation & upgrade.

The renovated units now have doors on all the bath toilet areas (a much requested change since the resort was built), all new built in cabinets in the kitchen and bath areas, new floor tile throughout both A & B units, new plumbing fixtures, a redesigned 2nd (smallest) bedroom with a queen sized bed (replacing the twin/trundle of the past, wall mounted LCD TV, new built-in custom dresser/closet, new carpet & paint color, granite counter tops in the kitchen and bath, granite shower walls and more. When this round is completed, estimated as June 2012, round two of the project will be underway. That will include the new color in the 2nd bedroom throughout the unit, all remaining carpeting replaced, new furniture, flat screen 52" LCD in living area, possible upgrades to the remaining TV's in the 2 master bedrooms to LCD's, new soft goods and more. That round is anticipated to be done in three groups of 60 units - completion by late 2013. That will complete the 2010 renovation plan and the planning for the next in 2016 will be underway.

In addition we are very close to completing the upgrades to the 2nd floor clubhouse windows & doors along with new tile on the second floor balcony area all to reduce water damage from Hurricanes and other storms. We also anticipate a grand opening of the new Dinosaur Theme kids area that compliments the signature Volcano pool. This area is situated in a previously unused/restricted access area that has now been added to available guest space thus adding to the overall space and features for owners & guests.

Cypress Pointe Resort tries to be under improvement at every opportunity. It is the belief of the HOA Board that a resort is ether improving or deteriorating. No resort simply stays as is. We prefer improvement.

They should have the reservation by now.

I'm sending my nephew, his girlfriend and their daughter to CP next March. These rennovations sound amazing. I can't wait to hear how they like the resort. We are thinking of going there ourselves sometime in early summer.

PS - I wish all TS resorts were so forward thinking and kept up to date. I've stayed at way too many that were in dire need of rennovations.
