did we get scammed?

My husband and i were in orland and bought a diamond resort sampler, 10k points for $1539 total...I went into a website and they had nothing good to say bout DRI...does anyone know anything about this? I have called the rep that sold this to us and she was quick to give us her cell number and i have called her but nothing has happened, I left a message and she hasn't called us back. Please help me.

Under Florida law you must be allowed to cancel/rescind within a number of days - I believe in Florida you have 10 days - check your contract and if you are within the rescission window and have any doubts, rescind in writing first thing tomorrow. Then do your research and purchase when you can make an educated decision. If you overpaid, you are luckier than most - you only laid out $1500.

I don't know much about Diamond's system, but in Wyndham, these sorts of "samplers" are a relatively inexpensive way to decide if the timeshare lifestyle is for you. No long term commitment, not much at risk, but an opportunity to try out one or two resorts.

So, if you can rescind, rescind immediately. If you can't, though, it's not the end of the world---try it out, see if you like it, and then do the research to find something that will fit your vacation needs that you can buy *resale*.

You didn't buy a timeshare you bought a travel package

And as such I don't believe you have any rights to cancel. This isn't a bad deal, and Diamond isn't a bad company so relax and figure how to best use your points.

Thanks for your replies and it does put me at ease a bit. I will plan our next get away and see how that goes. will keep you all posted.
