    From thetimeshareblog.com:

Construction Begins on Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort
December 13, 2011 in All News, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, USA and Canada by steveluba

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts kicked off construction of its luxury resort at Walt Disney World Resort today, in a groundbreaking ceremony with joint venture partners Silverstein Properties and Dune Real Estate Partners. The 444-room resort, being built in the enclave of Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort, will create about 2,000 construction jobs, and hundreds of resort positions when open.

“Travelers around the world know and trust Four Seasons, and Walt Disney World is the world’s premiere family vacation destination,” said Meg Crofton, president Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations US & France. “Together, our two companies offer a brand-new reason to visit and experience Central Florida.”

With an opening anticipated in 2014, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort will feature several dining venues including a rooftop restaurant with Magic Kingdom views; a 14,000 square foot spa; fitness center; three pools and a “lazy river;” sports and recreational facilities; meeting and event space plus a business center.
Even though the actual opening date is two years in the future and Disney is already quite established in their timeshares, I think it will be good for the Orlando timesharing community...what does everyone else think?

That's why I posted. Just wondering if people thought Disney needed another resort in the Orlando area and if there is any interest in it!

Speaking only for myself, and possibly some who have been active in timesharing for more than 20 years, it's hard to imagine being excited about yet-another timeshare in Orlando. Or Williamsburg. Or Branson. Or . . .

The timing seems very suspect . . . a new one at a time when the popularity of timesharing is at a bottom and the economy is so crappy.

The Four Seasons are beautiful resorts, and I'm sure that people will be more than happy to stay there when visiting Orlando. It's on Disney property, so the location is very good. I wonder if the any kind of Disney transportation will be offered? That could also make a difference.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

So it'll be north and west of Port Orleans Riverside?

I love visiting the Disney resorts, but when it comes to actually staying in a DVC unit, I'm a lot less enthused. In terms of comfort, Wyndham Bonnet Creek is way more what I'm looking for. So I'm definitely interested in another non-DVC option that close to the resorts. Thanks for bringing it up!

I'm always excited about another Orlando option for my mouse trips and I'm sure I'll have to try this one out, but I'm even more excited about the Grand Floridian going TS. Hopefully Poly is next.

I supose it would interest me if I had a remote thought that the price to stay for a night would be reasonable. But.....don't think that is gonna happen.

You never know with Disney, but the Grand Floridian one looks like it's going to be a good one, like Bay Lake Towers. It continues to puzzle me mightily why they didn't make use of the lake view when adding the Wilderness Lodge Villas. But view is huge with me, which doesn't seem to be the case with most Disney goers.

Don't steal the bathroom mirror at Aviara while you are there.

I will have to admit that it would be one way to have Four Seasons in Florida.

They have the most delicious hot chocolate with caramel whipped cream at the clubhouses! I have been drinking gallons of it all week. Oh, I will be crying at check out tomorrow! The hotel is all decorated for Christmas and it is GORGEOUS! The main check in at Avaira and the clubhouses are all decorated beautifully also! We are ready to move in . The furniture in our unit is nicer then our furniture at home

I agree with this. I don't think that Disney goers really care about views. Then again, when people think Florida I think they imagine sunny beaches...which isn't exactly available in the middle of the state. So, people settle for amenities which Disney provides a huge amount of.

The Lazy River addition is my favorite. Haven't stayed at a resort with one yet..so I'm super excited for this so close to home!
