Thought I'd post a little review since we don't have the reviews section anymore.
I exchanged into Native sun thru RCI about a year before check in. I received unit 102 upon check in. Not sure if that was the unit deposited or not but the resort could not move me so it probably was. The check in guy (Mike) was very nice and hospitable. He told me that if I was to return that I could request an ocean front unit and they would probably accommodate me again. He told me that if I wanted the room with 2 bathrooms, then not to book the smaller unit, but that if I booked the larger unit then I could be moved to any oceanfront unit that was available. He said that only 10% of exchangers make any type of room request so my chances were good of getting what we wanted.
The room was small, about 600 square feet but efficient use of the space. Both the living room and the bedroom had sliders to the patio. Unit 102 is on the first floor beach front so you can just walk out the slider to the hot tub, BBQ and beach area.
The resort is definitely an older TS probably from the 70's but in pretty decent shape. Our unit had everything we needed for the week including free wi-fi, the usual full kitchen stuff, two TV's with cable and they do provide you beach towels for up to the occupancy limit of the room. The beach chairs are free, you just pull them out to the beach and back when you are done with them. Parking is free and ample. You don't park right in front of your unit but it's a small resort so it's not a big deal. They have several shopping carts that you can use for loading and unloading groceries. There is a coin laundry on site. A sauna is also on site. The pool is small but big enough for the resort's size. There is also a small playground and tennis court.
The beach in this area is really beautiful. Nice slope and the week we were there it was mostly smooth although we did have a few rough days but that's typical of Atlantic beaches. There is no life guard on this beach. The resort is next to two condos so there aren't alot of people on the beach like down by the pier and public beach. The reef is supposedly close to the shore but we found it too far out to snorkel to because of the undertow and strong current beyond the buoys. There were also too many boats out there and we didn't want to risk being out there without a dive flag. Skip the snorkeling or take a flag with you. We did see some pontoon boat excursions out to the reef. Not sure where they go out but that might be worth doing.
There is a Publix supermarket and Dollar Tree just down the road about 1/2 mile south in Sea Ranch estates area. This resort is in Pompano beach on the GPS so don't put Lauderdale as it will take you someplace else. My friends got lost using their GPS which took them too far south.
We had a little trouble with Palmetto bugs in our room. We had 3 of them. I am not afraid of them but my friend travelling with me is terrified of them. They probably got in when we left the patio doors open as there is a big Palm tree right there and I'm sure that they are living in there. Might have also come out of the plumbing because we found one in the bathroom.
The furniture was okay. Not the most comfortable but your typical rattan and wicker style beach furniture. We didn't open the sofabed but slept on it closed. The bedroom bed was comfortable enough. There is plenty of storage for your stuff with a few closets. Plenty of towels in the room. A hair dryer is provided as well as a blender if you ask for them.
The grounds are nicely kept and there is a maintenance guy constantly working on the pool, hot tub, BBQ's, edging and mowing the lawn. There is also a small fountain near the office with a Dolphin in it. It looks like they are trying real hard to keep their RCI scores up. It's not a gold crown because of the size and limitations of being a small resort but they have done ALOT with what they have and it's a great little place to go to.
I found it good value for exchange and would go back again soon. Just wish they had more 2 bedroom units. I'm sure that the poor reviews from the past have been noticed and addressed because you definitely see them trying.
