I'm thinking, why not, or why not do something with the hundred thousand or so lots already platted in the general vicinity?

Cape Coral, Burnt Store, Lehigh Acres, Charlotte County, et al.

What makes this one different?

This is not the first guy to have a great vision for this area.

Ava Maria is doing a nice job with their planned community in SW Florida.

Babcock ranch was planned before the housing bust. the state was going to buy Babcock ranch, the price was really high and they didn't gt it. they made a deal to buy some of the land and the rest went to the developer.
