  • Review Marriott Oceana Palms, Riviera Beach, FL August 2013

Got this great unit on an II exchange.
Even though it was an exchange and we were placed in the back building it was still a fabulous stay.

We were given a south facing 9th floor unit next to the unit that they used for the sales tours.
All day long there were tourists touring on our floor so we saw all the sales people.
Never did sign up for the tour myself but there was an endless line of people for sure.

This is a small resort by Marriott standards.
    That makes it great though.
    Only two buildings right now.
The back building is actually the newer building and we had a unit there.
Everything was new and in good condition except for the carpet that had a fishy odor.
Apparently our room was supposed to have the carpets shampooed but they didn't get to it before we checked in.
You only really noticed it when you walked into the unit.

The views were great even though we were only ocean view and not ocean front.
There was a great breeze on the large spacious balcony.
The sun never seemed to be hot on the balcony during our stay anytime we used it.

There is a nice pool bar restaurant that does $4 happy hour every day.
Nice margaritas and bar restaurant type food.

The pools were surprisingly adequate for this resort at this point.
If they build more towers it may not be enough.
Two hot tubs and a lap pool are included.
Beach chairs are either free or you can use the beach chair service and get an umbrella.
We bought our own umbrellas at Walgreens for $10 each.

Parking is free and is in a parking garage which is great so your car doesn't get hot.
The elevators are efficient and lots of luggage racks on each floor.

The lobby was nice with a little computer kiosk area and fruity water all day.
There is a kids club in the lobby building too.
The gym is in the back building.
There is a fire pit and pool tables too.
Wifi is free and a little spotty with the hurricane impact windows.
Towels are down by the pool and you take as many as you want without any towel police.
There is a small marketplace where you can get free bags of ice.
A nice perk so you don't have to schlep ice down with your cooler for the beach.

This is a great urban beach resort.
    Can't wait to go back.

      What nice cocktails!

Thank you Chris for sharing this trip with me. I just loved the resort as well, a gorgeous, deep beach. Nice oversized balcony with great views ( as seen behind our lovely drinks)

Glad you came and also very glad you were my mixologist for the week.
BTW that Margarita above is Pat's creation.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
