Very tempting end of summer week.

Edit, have it on hold. Unit number D203.
Reviews say E units face the gulf, all others face the pool. What do you think?

    Will start new thread .....
So will I be disappointed not to have an oceanfront unit?
Would like to check out the gulf coast, is this a good base for driving around?

I think you will be disappointed with a non oceanfront unit.
The buildings are low rise. I think they are only 3 stories high.
I got an exchange for an E building unit for 2015, wanna come?

There isn't alot of exploring to do in and around Marco.
It's a very quiet town. The draw is the beach and fishing.

I guess you could day trip to Naples and the Everglades.
If you want more of an exploring base I'd think Naples would be better but that's just my opinion.
If you stay in Marco you will definitely need a rental car.

Charter Club of Marco has a much better chance of getting ocean front or ocean view and seems to be deposited more in RCI.
And I think since you are a Marriott owner that Crystal Shores would be even better.
It looks like a really nice place although it's not quite finished yet.
It's right next door to Charter Club. I could pick up their wifi from Charter Club's balcony.

There is a Chart Club of Marco online now for Labor Day week, the dates do not work for me.
This was the kind of advice I wanted, thanks so much, I released it.

Maybe I will return to Ocean Palm for some beach time - still got our umbrellas?

        Hmmm. Tempting.
I really like this resort but I don't have much to compare it to on Marco since I've only stayed here.
I do have some HGVC points to burn next year so will be trying out a few of the other resorts to see how I like them.
So many options and so little time.

And yes I stil have the umbrellas.
One of them took a beating in a little mini hurricane but it's still usable.

I enjoyed Marco Island for R&R but there was really nothing to do in the area and if I were to go back to that area I'd opt for Sanibel/Captiva or Naples.

You might want to check out Longboat Key. I have been there a few times and really like it.
