Anyone stay at Mystic Dunes lately?

The II website shows outdated rooms but the new II video shows remodeled rooms.
Is the resort done with the remodel?

A resort is never 'done' with a remodel, and one as big as Mystic Dunes, one that was let go as far as Mystic Dunes was, will probably start a new remodel cycle before they even finish the current one! Just sayin'

I was just there for 2 nights late January. A guest of an owner who stays very frequently.

I know this owner will only stay in building 31 or 32, which is where we were, this time and last April. Last April I went through 4 room changes in the pouring rain before finally ending up in Bldg 31. That is what I don't love about Mystic. When there were no renovated rooms available when I checked in initially, there was suddenly a room in Bldg 31 after 4 room changes at 11PM at night. It just feels wrong.

This time they tried to put me in bldg 16, which they explained was partially renovated and there were "no rooms available in building 31 or 32". 16 looked similar, but not quite the same, the entry door was pocked and rusted. The room smelled awful. I didn't pass all the way through the front door before turning around and heading back to reception. They always act confused about whatever is wrong...no hot water, closet doors off the rails and laying on the floor, no internet at all... That act bothers me.

The differences in the levels of reno that I have heard mentioned from my owner friend are: appliances, removal of carpet (tile installed throughout), very old/dated living room furniture replaced with much nicer modern and clean sofa and chairs.

My sister stays at Mystic often and doesn't care what room she gets, so I have seen the full spectrum they have to offer. She doesn't have time to change rooms. I don't have time on vacation for putting up with broken or run down or dirty...

I'll definitely pass til they get this place up to DRI standards completely.
