I selected our county, and then had to zoom way in to see the color at our house. Because we are on a canal, connected to a creek, connected to the bay, our zone is Red, #1. I could not find an explanation of what that means exactly, like how much storm surge we could expect with what level of tropical storm or hurricane. But, I can tell it means we are in the second most dangerous level, the area immediate to the Gulf being called T.
I had to zoom way in because the red zone is not very wide spread along some of the canals, creeks, etc., and now that I zoom way, way in, I can see that the canal to our house is red, but our property is not. The red on the properties stops three or four houses away.
Close enough, though, since our elevation is 8 feet MSL, and the canal is less than 100 feet away.
