We were there a few years ago during the Food and Wine Festival. It was quite crowded and we found we didn't get to do all of the rides we wanted. Food lines varied, I found the food pretty good. We were there all day.
My brother and I were there a few years ago. I concur with Luanne. I did find it interesting to try various wines and foods from different countries. Both wine and foods were very expensive, but done it once, don't need to do it again.

I should have added that when we went we didn't go specifically for the Food & Wine Festival. It just so happened to be going on when we were there. Although it was fun to try some new foods, I was disappointed not to be able to do more in EPCOT while we were there.
I usually go every year.
It's expensive but we enjoy it.
It's $100 to get in and that doesn't include any of the food and wine.
It's very crowded on the weekends with locals and much more enjoyable during the week.
They have lots of extra things that you can pay extra to attend.
They usually have some celebrity chefs that do their thing and a few old school bands doing free concerts.
I haven't done any of the extra things unless they were free.
I don't cook and have no desire to learn, would much rather eat.
Wow, I don't remember it being that expensive. I thought we just paid the regular park admission (which isn't cheap). I'm sure if it had been more we wouldn't have gone.
We went a couple of years ago since we had enjoyed it so much many years before. We were disappointed in the offerings, the cost and the lines. Although Epcot is our Disney favorite park, we would not go back during F&W. Just MHO.
As to price according to the website:
Celebrating its 20th year, the 2015 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will be held from September 25-November 16, 2015. Your Epcot admission is all that's needed to participate in this popular event!
I've been twice, just because it was the time I was there. The first time was better, tho it was early in the life of the event (may have even been the first). It's my favorite time for Disney World- but you have to avoid the British school holidays.

These days, regular one-day park admission is $100. I would not necessarily go for a day just for F&W, but as part of a larger trip really enjoyed it. We did a few of the extras, and though they were reasonably good values for Disney.
Below from the Disney Food and Wine website, remember this is in addition to the cost of admission:
