OLCC was our first time share....resale ....1990 ...weeks 51 and 52

we used it the first couple years, but then got into exchanging for a long time

the nice thing about week 52 there was/is the free week once every five years called week 53

we have just recently "run out of Orlando" timeshares to explore and have been doing internal exchanges back into OL

we have always liked the resort, but do feel it is BIG

we liked the east village this last year, and thought the offer for upgrading to river island was fair so we did that with our week 51 ...to week 41 in RI ( all this has to do with when we can travel NOW, which is any time but summer in orlando....we been there done that not again....)

we have enjoyed good trades since they introduced RCI internet access.....before that we were always at the whim of the VC you got at the moment...lately trades have not been as plentiful at least to the places we go frequently.....

we have even sent relatives to OL who enjoyed it ...with the exception of cleaning issues which they told me about and which i relayed to management when i heard about them ( issues that cleaners might not catch since it was like for example candy wrappers in the couch cushions )

we have had issues with the cleanliness and condition of some of the units we have stayed in at OL....but have taken to notifying the proper personnel about them and they usually have been "fixed"

we do not ever regret buying there....and that summer of 1990 we saw a LOT of timeshares and comments like ...we cannot believe you are not buying from us since you are sold on the idea.....have always been a comparison shopper, and those nice bill boards told us about "RESALES"

the product is good....satisfies our needs ......but some of its messengers have GONE way over board ....

I feel we must be in parallel worlds.

Lawgs experience with OL and RCI is almost exactly the same as ours, except for the part where you actually buy something at OL.

It's like I gave lawgs the words to say, like being at the whims of the Guides (VCs back then).

Lawgs does bring a new element into this drama in that one owner is now beating up another owner, not just non-owners.

Do a Search for Vickie on Tug's Florida Board.

I did and I found it strange that Vickie's input on the Florida board seems to be almost limited to the OLCC post. And not just one post for each thread. WHY?

Why not?

Although is does point to a fixation, and even though we find her irritating, since we are asking to be able to say what we want where we want, in a friendly manner, without being belittled or berated, by the same token she should be able to post what she wants where she wants, as long as it is in a friendly manner.

As Zig Ziglar said about the fiddle player with just one string, that guy has found his note and everyone else is still looking for theirs.
