Actually, I've already done it once before the Global Access program was announced. Someone, I'll give you one guess at who, sent me a private message to please remove the post. I actually removed it due to the request. What a dope.

      Did you really?

I guess she didn't want to have you confuse the OL owners with facts!

        NO you didn't.....
I imagine the faithful weren't happy to see that it could/can be done.
Well I'm certain that other anecdotal evidence exists that wonderful loopholes are there to be exploited.

Well we know you visit often and will share the latest with us eager watchers of our favorite reality show.

I am certain she works for Orange Lake. She should have to disclose that information, if it really the case. No one owner could possibly love their resort so much as she supposedly does. I have decided it is the only explanation for her behavior. I do not, however, understand the moderators' behavior of allowing the ridiculous conversations to continue.

I find myself angry about it. I really need to hang loose and stop reading the threads on OLCC. The bragging and the other owners defending the bragging is enough to make me nauseous.

I'm pretty regularly choking on my own vomit about the situation Over Yonder too, Cindy. It's absolutely ludicrous that one individual is allowed again and again and again to be insulting, belittling, and condescending to anyone who sees Orange Lake as anything less than Utopia. But what really grinds my gears is that she not only goes unscathed for her unacceptable behavior, but those who dare to challenge her end up with censorship, suspensions or threats thereof. The whole situation has me so turned off that I'm not spending much time Over Yonder these days at all.

Ask her point blank and see how she responds? This thread is too funny to read that it makes me and my old cat doesn't know what is going on.

OK, I took the bait. The person in question said that OLCC was implementing an internal points program, but that owners "can continue to place your week in RCI's weeks program as you have always done." I said, "Well, it's not really 'as you have always done,' because in the past you could give your week to the RCI Weeks program, and if you belonged to the RCI Points program, you could get RCI Points for it, after paying a small fee (I think it's $26.) Now, you can still give the week to RCI, but you can't get RCI Points for it unless you've paid to join OLCC's points program."

We'll see what sort of response I get.

Emmy, you should ask that question. It might be better that way. When you look at some of the posts, it is just obvious. She talks about it like she is on site all the time.

I find it hilarious that this was supposed to be some secret system that OLCC was developing specifically for their owners. "Details are forthcoming, this is going to be big news." It turns out to be RCI points? It is so funny. I am with Emmy.

                    Why the big secret?

You know, I think they are going down the same road as PAHIO with their stance on converting. If you buy/bought from the developer, you pay less. If you bought resale, you may be kept from converting or may have to either buy another unit or pay a lot for conversion. The deal that RCI made with PAHIO is a model that other resorts are envious of, according to our sleazy salesguy at Bali Hai last month. PAHIO resale buyers cannot convert to points. They have to punish those who buy resale because the developer wants to make the money over and over again. They cannot make money if you buy resale. Oh, wait, they did sell the ORIGINAL DEED to someone. Pretty soon, they will be exercising their ROFR.

I would like to see them show a highrise on S. Magnolia Ct. to a buyer at a reduced price of 10K or something. It would be so funny.

There's periods when I don't post over there either.

But even when those accused of stirring the pot are not, the snobbish insults continue.

No one is blinder than he who will not see.

It makes you wonder what one has to do to gain special privilege. 15000 or so posts is not the ticket.

I still think it's something in the water that barbequed food counteracts. I can think of 3 miserable individuals that owned (or indicated they did) at OL. Perhaps it's because of the size of the place that there are so many.
Then, again, it wouldn't be the first time a resort insider promoted on the site.

Just goes to show how RCI and developers shamelessly team up to rip off owners. What a total shame.

When it comes to money, ethics go out the window.

Cindy, what is the link? I read the old one you had referred to in one of your posts. I never read the east coast as I can't get my DH to go there.

Emmy, this particular post on RCI points was on the TUG Points thread, started by someone who can no longer deposit his Orange Lake week into RCI Points for Deposit.

I don't want to get you in trouble, Emmy. I really don't think you ought to ask that question. Someone earlier posted several questions, pointedly asking the Orange Lake expert if she was on the board. He was banned, she continues to post, even though she was very abrasive in her posts toward him. The moderators tend to side with her, I have no idea why.

I guess I have to worry about posting here as well. I don't want to lose my posting privileges on either site, so I am no longer going to post against her. It is the only thing I can do from now on. It will keep my blood from boiling.

Nothing Gary or Tony says is offensive. Two other OLCC defenders have got my dander up, but I just am not going to go there.

First, I am going to borrow a acronym from the past, SWSRN, which stands for She Who Shall Remain Nameless .

Second, SWSRN has put herself forth as the wife of a doctor from Indiana.

Third, as one who has been the target of abuse in both real life and virtual life for the last four years or so, let me suggest that fighting fire with fire only makes a bigger fire.

The mucky mucks Over Yonder do read Over Here, which is a double-edged sword. I can also assure you that the owner of Over Yonder is aware of the problem.

We should do our best to conduct ourselves without being abusive ourselves. If we cross the line here, and become like SWSRN, we are no better than her, and we should expect retaliation. That how the abuse cycle works.

Let's try to stay above the fray, because if we get down in it, we're liable to get some of it on us. If we mind our manners and those who can make a difference don't, then the problem is on them. Those who can see the problem can also see the failure to properly deal with the problem.

When it comes to abusive people, frustration is your worst enemy. You just wanna smack em up side of the head and have the problem over with. But, time is the best friend of the truth. The good will still be around, if they care to be, after the abusive have fallen from grace.
