Orlando, Florida
Horizons at Orlando , designed with Key West flair, is surrounded by the thrills of the world's favorite vacation destinations. Spacious two-bedroom, two-bath villas have full kitchens, separate living and dining areas, screened balcony, and washer/dryer.
Resort Highlights
Now open Putt Of Course® - an 18 hole miniature golf course covering 22,000 sq. feet.
Family oriented resort. Pirate theme activity program.
WaterWorksSM - an interactive water play area with a giant bucket of water falling from a tower.
and our Grandchildren ages 3 & 5 (Boys) loved it. Easy access to Sea World and not far from Disney.
We just got back from a stay at Marriott's Cypress Harbor. It was a nice resort. However, we took the tour of Grand Vista and were wowed by the grounds and villas. Next time we will be staying there. We did not get a chance to see the Horizions, but our sales guide told me that the units there did not have whirlpool tubs. That may not make any difference to you or not, but it is one thing we love about staying in timeshares, so that eliminates that resort from our list.
The older Grande Vista units are not WOW, they are just okay. We stayed in both and could not believe the difference. I would never settle for an older unit after seeing the new. The new units are incredible. Funny that dark-colored cabinets and dark counters are back in style again.
Cypress Harbour had a few remodeled units, but most were still the pink couches. I still think it is one of the nicer resorts in Orlando, even before the remodel.
Horizons does not have whirlpool tubs. I won't grab a week there for that reason. I would love to experience the older resorts in the giant complex down the road. So far, I have not done that. Maybe one of those 7,500 point exchanges.
I have stayed at Royal Palms, Cypress Harbor and where I own, Grande Vista.
I have traveled with groups of friends and family and all ages seem to love Grande Vista.
There is a 9 hole golf course with a Nick Faldo school plus an 18 hole Marriott owned course across the street - tennis courts to use for free. There is a nice kids club with 'kids night out' programs. Rent or bring your own bikes...a large lake with boat rentals...2 beautiful pool areas (one themed with water cannons and zero entry) plus 2 satelite pools.
We chose the Grand Vista......wife will be going this October...will let you know....never been to any of them.
cheap getaways did the trick for us....just watching out for hurricanes.
"If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed." -- Thomas Jefferson to Col. Yancey, 1816
my vote is also for the grand vista......my teenage daughter and her girl friends had a ball. they met other teenagers, and they all hug out together. they did some of the activities offered in the teen program, as well as volleyball on the beach..........

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

.
I was under the impression that most if not all the buildings have been renovated but it doesn't hurt to call the week before and request a renovated one.

What is the code of the newer Grande Vista? And how far is it from Universal?
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed and those who are cold and are not clothed."
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
What is the code of the newer Grande Vista? And how far is it from Universal?
There is no code - the 2 different resort numbers refer to whether the unit is part of the Florida Club or not...It is about 10-15 minute drive to Universal depending on traffic and how you go.
Which Orlando Marriott would you recommend? We have a ds13 and a dd9.
TIA
What are you going to use to trade in to those Marriotts?

My 1 bedroom Tahoe week will trade into Orlando Marriott's with ease.
2 bedroom at Cypress Harbor, Palms or Sable, various at Horizons and GV.
Heck, I-I has give me options to trade into a 2 bedroom at Marriott Timber Lodge right up the street (in Tahoe) with that 1 bedroom TBSC unit.
No reason to laugh, it's true.
