First, yes Frank, it got off track when a moderator called me a liar in public.
Please give me an opportunity to pursue that, to put it to rest, and then we can go on with whatever it is we were talking about before.
I spent some more quality alone time since my last post, eating lunch and then showering, so that I smell less like oil and gas and more like cucumber melon when our guests arrive.
Of course, I continued muttering to myself throughout.
It occurred to me to re-read the suggestions I got from the other web-site admin, as perhaps I remembered them incorrectly. But, no I hadn't. It is exactly as I have said. If you can't remember what I said, it's back up yonder somewhere.
It also occurred to me to look at who all received the specific suggestions I received. No one else was copied on either of them. As I have already said, I also believe the person who sent them to be an honorable person doing the best he can, in his own judgement. I believe that because of the highly personal nature of the suggestions he sent me, that he would not send them to anyone else. At the most, he might have sent the exact text to the other admins and the site owner, but the nature of what he told me was not something that would typically be shared with a mod.
In my words, the contents of the messages is above a mod's station, very personal in nature. Frankly, I would be upset if the exact text was shared with a mod, especially one not involved in the incident. I would feel that that sort of sharing would be prejudicial and inflammatory. The only reason I might think that he might have shared the exact text wwith this particular mod is that they have shared similarly in the past. So it is possible.
I believe that there is a more real possibility that the mods might have received a general statement from the admins concerning the issue after it was resolved by the admins, and that statement might have said that the admins did not find my statements and conduct on that thread to be punishable, which was the real outcome. That statement would not likely have contained the information that I have been told that I am not to post on that topic again.
I can see how a mod not in the loop on the personal suggestions to me might draw a false conclusion, but not one that would justify calling me a liar in public.
So, I am willing to do the following to avoid having to post some emails that would likely be embarassing to others. If the person that called me a liar would retract that and apologize, admitting that it is possible that she does not know exactly what was said to me, I will move on.
Then, perhaps, she can put me back on herr ignore list and we will go our separate ways.
I also still believe that even though he is most likely an honest and honorable man, that it is bad judgement for an admin or a mod to engage themself in a debate, and especially on the side opposite someone they have told cannot post on that topic any longer, ever, and forever more.
He could have delegated that, as in Roberts Rules of Order, when the presiding officer of a group wishes to opinionate in a discussion, they hand the gavel to someone else and they step down from their position of power to do so.
Our guests just called and they're on their way.
Heading to the boat now.
Hope you all get this worked out.
