  • Sea Club IV Daytona Beach keep or throw it back?

the continuing saga of "I have no Easter exchange".

Had a match up for SeaClub IV Daytona FL 1BDRM 6/4. Check-in March 31.

I've never been to Daytona. Is it warm enough there at end of March?

Place sounds pretty nice with all units having oceanviews.

Do I take it or toss it back?

    Lawren,

I can't help you with the resort other than to say that the Yahoo reviews seem good, but you probably have seen them. My only advice would be to check when Spring Break is for colleges, I had heard a few years ago that the kids had moved from Ft Lauderdale into Daytona... maybe someone else has more current info?

I'm glad you got something, and it's 'on the beach' location is right up your alley. Avg daily high in Daytona for March is 74, April is 80... so I'd guess you'd be ok temp-wise but maybe not swimming in the ocean...

      Bike Week

Might also want to check and see when BIKE WEEK is at Daytona. I think it is earlier in March, but never hurts to verify. Depending on what you like that could be a plus or negative.

Eric that was the VERY first thing I checked!

I guess my question is "How nice is the beach"?

Glitter-girl I'm trying to verify college spring breaks too.

I just want beach, warm and quiet...doesn't have to be a resort. I'm more location and view oriented.

I remember Bootleg saying that 6 months out were the deposits on a LOT of accounts but very fearful that nothing better will show at this point...

Speaking of WOW! WOW!, you've really lowered your expectations.

You started out wanting Gold Crown on the beach in SW Florida or the Caribbean, and now this.

                Tell me about it.

I've seen nothing but studios in SCal ( cold) and Ormond Beach (where the heck is that) for weeks now.

I want to throw it back.....but I don't want to stay home for Easter Break either.

We don't have a (((HUG))) emoticon.

Yeah and Dave opened an HGVC search at 9 months for me.

OK (cringing) I'll throw it back.

                    Hey Lawren,

I've sent you a couple of PM's, one with a resort in the Caribbean for 3/31/07 check in, 2BR.

We used to own a week 52 larger one bedroom there but sold it. We never stayed there but did visit it during New Years 2004 and went through our unit..

The rooms are about a medium-small size for a Florida timeshare if that makes any sense to you. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate the units a 5, the staff at the front deak at 7-8.

You unit had a patio door in both the bedroom and living room that faced the ocean and gave a excellant view with a rating 7-8. The Ocean is fairly close to the pool. The beach seemed decent.

I think you could do worst but it is not anything like The Resort On Cocoa Beach. It qwould not bother me to stay there.

The main reason we sold it was there were about 48 timeshares listed in the Tug reviews for that area so we felt if we did not use it, we felt it might rent for maybe a bit over maintenance fees if it would be rented at all. We now try to buy ownerships that will most likely will rent out for at least 1 1/2 times the yearly maintenance fees.

We felt that way because with so much availability in the Daytona area that area for non race or non special event weeks was over built in regards to timeshares.

We wanted something futher south so we bought a week fixed 10 in Vero Beach and our 3 bedroom floating week in Key Largo in the Florida Keys. Thats is available for Easter week in 2007. Both of them are excellant weeks in areas that are not overbuilt.

Then we bought even futher south weeks 4,5,and week 11 at The Hotel On The Cay. Weeks 4 and 11 are available to rent. The main reason I bought there was location and they are priced right. They are also in fairly high demand during prime times. The other reason was Big Frank owned there before me and I thought be knew what he was doing.

Heck I will rent just about every thing out that we own if we have enought time to book something else.

I did have a couple of Easter weeks at The Resort on Cocoa Beach in 2007 but I just sold that ownership and rented out the second week.
