My aunt has asked me to help her with a 2 week florida trip. I was able to secure a week in Pompano at Fairways at PalmAire, I was sort of surprised since I didn't think I'd find anything.

She wanted Orlando for the second week and had decided on Cypress Harbour, but when I went to book it there was a notice that the Main Pool would be closed for construction/renovation during her stay, so she opted out and asked me to book Horizons instead. She will be traveling with a friend with no kids.... I warned her I thought the place might have more little kids than other places, but there were no Grande Vista openings for her dates through II, and no 2 bedrooms at the 'better' RCI resorts...

If anyone has an opinion on the impact of the closure of the main pool at Cypress Harbor (they would definitely be spending pool time) vs. the kids at Horizons, please let me know. They will be traveling when all schools are in session, so I'm guessing the kid factor will be skewed toward families w/younger kids.

Any help would be appreciated, we've got 24 hours to cancel/switch. Thanks.

There is another pool, the island pool, that is beautifully landscaped. As long as the resort is not at full capacity, I don't see a big problem. There is not too much walking distance between the main and the island pool.
But niw you have me concerned. I will be there 3/31-4/8, will the pool be done by then? That is peak time, and the island pool would get way crowded if the main were closed.

II's 'warnings' indicate that the work will be in progress b/t Jan 1 and Mar 2nd. You will be there for spring break, I'm sure they're at least intending to complete by then.

I was visiting both of those resorts on Friday Oct 6th and the main pool was open. There was some construction barriers around the gift shop and snack bar area. There was a TON of children at the Horizons pools.

Aren't there 3 pools altogether at Cypress Harbor? The main pool, the island pool and then one by the activity center?

Yes, but the one by the activity center is very small.
