For quite some time now, even before GoGlobal, there has been talk about OL going it alone, leaving RCI and handling its own exchanges through some sort of network they would establish on their own.
Then, when GoGlobal was first announced, I went to my Inside Guy. He said that notion was a little strange in that OL had just inked a long-term agreement with RCI. He said anyone could see that all OL did was double RCI point values and call it their own point system.
Next supporting the notion that OL is not going it alone, OL came out as a RCI Points resort. Then the designation of two resorts within OL.
All the while, those doing searches keep posting about excess inventory available as far into the future as you can search.
Now, has anyone noticed that when they get to the sign-in page of RCI.com, at least for Weeks, that the picture being shown in the upper righthand center of the page is OL's West Village? It only stays there a couple of seconds, before going through a series of four other pictures, but if you refresh the page, there it is again.
Orange Lake, the lake, on the left, the West Village Clubhouse, the Golf Villas, the Resort Course, the trees on the right being where the tollroad is, and as it pans out, the Southern Magnolia Court highrises, the first buildings going in the west entrance, come into view, just before the picture fades.
Doesn't that seem strange for a company that is severing ties with a resort?
