  • Florida Resident Insurance

Today the call from Allstate came. We are no longer writing insurance for any type constucted Home, Condos, and buildings in Florida. (I think in other places as well).

Most folks having Allstate were aware of this, and that a new company sold via Allstate agents called Royal Palm. The insurance ona 1 bed 2 bath condo approx 950 sq feet was $ 485 will now be $2000 via Royal Palm (as long as it is not on A1A or between the ocean and the ICW all around Fl.

But the agent said there was one company in Fl only called St Johns that will insure a home (no mobile or manufactured) or condo (built after a certain date) for a bit less. Same coverage as original Allstate and sold via Allstate Agents. Price was $832.00

Rapmarks, Joanne, I know it went up for you, too. They insure valued at $80,000 to $750,000 properties.

General question I forgot to ask Allstate Agent. This Company rated AA. Will it affect our umbrella policy through State Farm with a 2 A rating??

    Ken ~~

I tried to go with Allstate bout 3 or 4 months ago & they were very high compared to my $1,450 for our newly built home here in Bonita ~~ They wanted $2,250 ~~ I just recived another quote from them & they want to get me again ~~ Trust me ~~ They ain't gettin my business ~~ My insurance is due in April 2007 whom I'm with Tower Hill Insuance Company out of Gainsville ~~ I've had them since 2005 ~~ They raised it in 2005 for only $50 ~~ Same as my car only its with Travelers ~~ Coverage on the car is $1,035 ~~ Our home is appraised at over $300,000 ~~

Right now I'm talkin with the Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union coverage at which I think I can get both for a little cheaper then I have now ~~ Have to wait till March for my insuance renewal ~~

We got our homeowners policy last week from State Farm. Our policy went from $860 to $1313 on a 1600 sq.ft. house in Lehigh (NOT in a storm surge area ) Our 'normal' deductible is now set at $2,017, with our "Named/Hurricane" deductible is $4,214 (on a house they say is worth $210,700).

Our DD BF got his policy last week and it went up 300%!!! DD has not received her bill yet. Both are with State Farm.

Yes, I knew Allstate was going to quit writing down here. Have a friend from Ohio who is an Allstate agent and he could not get insurance through his own company on the house he just bought in Bonita.
