Any way to find out without calling RCI?
I don't want to deal with: booking my weeks o deposit, depositing more weeks, extending my membership, buying travel insurance, and the myriad of other topics the guide will then discuss with me.

Every year about this time I wonder to myself, and to anyone who will listen, if it would be better to dump my weeks into ebay and just use these RCI & II "extra" vactions each year.

I know, I know, owning timeshare forces you to take a vaction blah blah blah. And all those other snipits we hear, and repeat, from all our "owner updates."

When forking out another $100+ for another active search at RCI, that may go on for a year with no good result, I get tired of being "forced" to take a vacation.

Extra vacations and last call are of varying supply and the prices keep rising. If you are ok with the pricing and potential last minute nature of it, sure, dump your week and just use the 'other programs.'

In Oct. we went to W. Palm Beach for two weeks. We had exchanged two weeks that we had paid ~$750 per week maintenance fees. A month prior to leaving, RCI had the same resort on last call for $299/week. They had several SE Florida GC available at the same time. Easy math for me! We currently own 5 weeks, and have just put two Hilton managed properties listed with Hilton for sale. Both of these were purchased after market for about 25% of developer price. I figure with all the new TS developments, and people subsequently wanting to get out of their TS fees, I can always buy aftermarket bargains again later.

If you are extremely flexible, these are great opportunities, but most of us need a bit more time (at least for some of our vacations)

Yes, me too. It's rare I can just dump the job for a week with little notice.

No I can't just dump the job and leave,,,,,but I can plan to take a week off say next june.....and not know where I am going until I "pick" my destination from extra vacations at RCI or II, or snap travel, or SkyAuction, etc. etc.

Instead of the aches and pains of trying to pull that exchange all year, we just look a month, week, or day ahead of our planned time off.....and whowee lets pack.
